Spherical Spaceship
I started building on #7 of the locations listed in this post, a lonely mountain in a swamp. A suitably wintry location for this time of the year!
Inspired by flowers, perhaps especially lotuses, I envisioned a spherical spaceship.
Here's how it looked in an intermediate phase:
And from underneath. To make it hover above ground, I added holes for four beams
After messing around with concrete sand for the beams, I remembered string! Most helpful to hold the sand blocks in place! Putting a bit of distance to the ground makes it more realistic!
At first I had almost no interior decoration whatsoever
To make it more interesting inside I drew inspiration from the Fluxliner™ of Area 51 fame, especially the extremely simple controls:
A sphere to direct the ship
Lever for power/velocity
Just a button to stop/start and unfold/fold
Just like in the Fluxliner™, the controls are identical in four directions.
But this ship opens underneath... (as hinted in the picture of the beams). Would you dare to walk among the beams up the stairs?
Finally I added more depth to the leaves and put lights to make it a bit more interesting (and to at least partly fend of the snow =)
We could imagine that the rods perfectly sets into holes of the shell as the petals close
Left to do is to add a puzzle to teleport from the build back to the main map at spawn
Hope you enjoyed this little update to Ḍādxièya ;D

Underhill Riverhome
While streaming on Twitch a week or so ago I started building on location number 8 listed in this post, a forest-clad hill nestled in a river. This place is soo perfect for this kind of build!
The screenshot in the location post is towards the other direction, the hilly island or peninsula doesn't show.
But that's exactly where I dug into the hill at a location I found.
The exterior so far doesn't look like much. I used stone buttons to have some rocks lying around. Now in 1.13 water is not displaced by fence posts, which makes small boardwalks all the more delightful! I use trap doors on top of the posts. Also trap doors mixed with spruce half slabs make up the roof for now. The house is really in the beginning phase, so the exterior is rough and dirty. Some vines growing, and only cobble and gravel make up a short path around the entrance and one of the windows.
On the southern side is a cobbly cover, diverting mud and water to keep an opening free to let light down inside.
Which leads us to look indoors.
There is a small square hallway and then a larger L or T-shaped room. Not much furnishing yet, two hangers in the entrance along with wooden buttons for clogs, and a place to sit
A bookshelf with a cactus and a skull in the hallway. Item frames with a turtle shell and a tree, perhaps symbols of the family name.
In the sky-lit area some plants or herbs are grown by the inhabitants. Next to the window towards the front, two seats, a foldable table and a blue orchid in a pot.
this post will be updated as the build progresses.
