At the moment my Girlfriend and me are building a dungeon in form of a haunted house. I create this thread to collect some ideas. This can inculde ideas for a small mechanism or even complete rooms.
To start I would like to show the bat-spawner. Just a regular mob spawner filled with bats. This is a great feature
to put between to rooms. So everytime someone enters a room 5 bats will be released.
You could fill dispensers with ghast and zombie spawners for the creepy sounds they make when they're released. You can trigger the dispensers with pressure plates or trip wire, whatever fits in the design of your room - best if you can keep them hidden or disguised, of course, for the surprise. You can connect the dispensers with redstone if that works for you. I'm doing this for my Halloween party build - the party is inside the tree, entrance across from the Fierce Chicken, which goes with the chicken trap "Escape the Chickens" game I built for the kids.

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes; after that, who cares?! He's a mile away and you've got his shoes!
