I tried to tell you this is the nicest way possible, but I don't think you got it. I HATE BUILDING, AND I CAN'T DO IT. FORGET TRYING TO TEACH ME, ANYONE WHO DOESN'T EVEN IMPROVE IN THAT AMOUNT OF TIME IS JUST STUPID. END OF STORY.
Look, I get frustrated easily. I know what you are going to say: "Dude, don't use that as a crutch. Deal with it." And you would be right. But it isn't an excuse, it is a reason. I was also really mad about something else (not minecraft/building) as I was is raging. But that's none of your buisness. I will try the guide. But usually I end up asking "How do I apply this to my build?" or "How do I make it look different from yours while still using the same concept?" I am a tactile learner (I learn through doing things myself, not watching videos or hearing explanations,) which makes it hard because trial and error is not exactly effective when learning to build. That is why I am good with redstone. Once you know how it basicaly works, you can do anything you want through trial and error. Well, I won't go more off topic. I'll try using the guide now. Sorry for raging.
Just add detail as much as you can. Don't be afraid to add detail if you think it looks weird. Also try participating in mini games like build battle to help you get practice for building. Hope this help!
Like most people have said, Try building stuff from tutorials. Even if you have to try a lot of them, eventually some of it will soak in. That's why repetition is so important in learning sometimes. Try watching other peoples building videos also, maybe after you've gotten the hang of some basic creative building. If you see something in another non-tutorial video, try to build something similar. It doesn't have to match theirs, just trying you'll learn something. Don't give up.
You are way too hard on yourself also. Give yourself some credit. I've rage quit over redstone before. You can do it. Congrats.
just try to do random things like putting stairs at different angles at different part of the outside and practice using random details that you can think of.
personally I used to suck at building and It took me 4 years to get to the point of that tower. the 3 years before that, it was a way smaller version of your 2nd house in the post above (the basic spruce and oak) I would have started a thread just like this 4 years ago (if i had a forum account) but I took a look at different things people have done, taken small details from that and plonked it onto a build and made new things. You don't need to know what details are good just try new things. even I am not that good at building but I'm not bad either. I'll show you pictures of older builds iv'e made and even WIP ones. Also try adding different blocks to things. Often, if you are trying to make ruins out of stone bricks, add splotches of mossy stone bricks and cracked stone bricks. I would take a picture of every page in the construction handbook and show it if that wasn't both illegal and people could read it.
and as Shia labeouf oce said........ JUST DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T LET YOUR DREAMS BE DREAMS. I believe in you. don't just quit I hate watching people quit even though lots of other people, people you've never met, people that may live across the world from you cared and tried to help others.
Sorry if this message comes out a bit harsh. It wasn't intended to im a very calm girl
I'm not trying to teach you, I want you to feel better, raise your self confidence (wow this is cheesy) and help motivate you to build. even if building is not your thing, you can still play survival mode. that second oak and spruce basic house is PERFECT for surviving from monsters. Minecraft isn't juat about building and creative mode is optional.
The easiest way Ive learned to build is to look up an image of something on google I want to create. Lets take a bakery for example. I look at the different structures of every building I see and cherry pick the best components. Then to actually make it look good, try out different combinations of blocks on a small section of the building until you find something you like. Once something rubs you right, finish the build! Inspiration is a huge part of building, which is why I always google an image of a building before I build it. Also you can look at minecraft creations other people have done and try to copy them, and adjust it slightly to your own style. I highly recommend watching a youtuber named "BDoubleO100" as he is a fantastic builder and there are many things in his world that will inspire you. Heck next time you're out running errands, pay attention to the buildings you pass. When you see one that you really like, take a picture of it and try to build it in minecraft.
To sum it all up, don't start staring at a blank plane of grass and try and build something. Have a plan in mind and adjust until it looks perfect!
Hope it helped <3 I've mainly just said how I build things and I hope you can relate and replicate!
Practice makes Perfect bro if you need to make small huts and make them bigger every next hut and try to keep them looking similar its good practice and like they say watch youtube and learn get tips its amazing what people can teach you
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
Building comes naturally. People who have a creative mindset are way better at building. But for others, it actually involves a lot more thinking, if you are not natural you may actually never get good at building, most of the time, its not about experience its about the mindset.
