I have just started a new project in minecraft that is supposed to be a Town Square for a bustling urban medieval city. I have only created the clocktower and the fronts of some houses, but I dont want to build any more until I have people's opinion on what people think about it, and what I could change or do better with it. I would also appreciate it if you gave me ideas of what to do in the corners of where one group of houses meet another (You can see that blank space easiest on the last two pics). Thanks for your feedback and criticism!!
really like the clock tower, but the shops feel a bit too skinny imo. As for what to put in the corners, you could do trees, fences, storage containers, little flower gardens, back alley entrances, storage sheds, or any combination thereof.

This is amazing! I love seeing people like you's builds.
As for the corner, maybe for some of them have a house that sort of conjoins, another one could have a house facing back, and another could have a park or green area?

Thanks for the feedback! I will try making the house sizes vary, although that might not work because if I , for example, make one house wider by 2 blocks, the house next to it will have to be 2 blocks smaller. I could still try it out, and maybe make the smaller houses a bit shorter to make it kinda more proportionate. Thanks for the ideas on the corners too!

A fun thing to try is just to build random buildings in different sizes. Like try a 4x7 or 10x30. And shapes too, that's a good way to warm up. But yes the ones you built look amazing, please update! I would love to see more of your work.
At first I found a way to use World edit in 1.7 (dont ask me how I did it, I swear it took me an hour of guessing and was 85% luck in my eyes :P) to do the stone surface that the Square is built on (its floating above a superflat world), but after that I switched to 1.8 and used a lot of the new blocks and didnt realise that I only had W/E until it was too late, so basically besides the platform, no mods are/were used, and wont be for the rest of the build.
Nice start to your town! I feel that the base of the clock tower could be redone to make it taller and thicker because it seems a bit too top heavy.I like how the clock is larger than the base, but I think it's exaggerated too much.
Also, don't be afraid to use more full block detailing. Using a lot of half slabs and stairs sometimes results in overly messy detailing that takes away from the atmosphere.
I like the color palette and overall design, good luck on finishing it!
UPDATE #2: I've included a chunk of the finished road (made of andesite and stone), but my biggest achievement today was coming up with an idea for the corners of the Square: all of them will have a small slice of greenery/ a backyard garden. I have also added a blacksmith to the sides of one of the houses.

UPDATE: I didnt have much time to work on the build today, but I did manage to add a walkway going over the street connecting one house to another.
Great! Is this with fast building mods or completely by hand?

Very Cool
Looking awesome!
Wish console builders were more like you, 99% of console builders suck and are kids.
Aside from that, looks good, 8/10
