I've always avoided organic shapes because I didn't feel confident doing an organic build ever since I started building and this project is here to change that.
Based on the Hammerhead shark, this steampunk/dieselpunk experiment quickly turned out to be a playground for new ideas of mine as well as trying something completely different from what I did before.
Working with industrial themed stuff like pipes, engines, tanks and whatnot while at the same time, trying to keep the shape of the build is really, really interesting and the build is by no doubt turning into something very unique
The blue "stuff" coming from those engines at the sides are placeholders and will be turned into realistic looking fire by using orange, yellow, red and white stained glass blocks and panes with some glowstone mixed it.
This is the bottom line of original and creational work. Many tend to comment on my city as well with words like "but this and this is not realistic", "black roofs are impractical and unrealistic". And the very thread they comment, is under "fantasy" genre - yet these comments flow in. Many seem to forget the actual freedom of creating: it can be anything with any kind of rules.
- Added some more antennas and details around the smokestack (the little "towers" are hardpoints for some more AA-guns but I will make new ones for those)
- Opened up a cut-out next to the small engines for more greeble.
- More lighting around the front (the small line of lights)
American Chopper exhausts look totally rad so I decided to put some on my ship as well.
I also extended the head, upgraded the weaponry, added more antennas, changed some textures in the texture pack (noteblocks), extended the cranes on the back of the ship and added a loading ramp for replenishment.
Awesome! Looks like you put some work into this! Part of my liking is because I also like Sharks. I have a tough time with creating extremely original things. ;-;

Thank you! I'm actually quite bugged by how slow progress is going lately. I spend about 4+ hours a day on it and because I am mostly applying greeble, it sometimes look like I accomplished nothing that day. It can get a bit frustrating at times but hey - that's the price I'm willing to pay.
Usually, I stay away from minecraft after a major project is done to get some new ideas. There are about 4 to 9 weeks in between them.

I present to you: The HammerHead Gunship
The build itself changes a lot as I get new ideas. For example, the tail fin was changed to a twin tail.
Here's how it looked before that:

Stay tuned for updates

More attention to armament around the whole build now.
Adding some more turrets and filling the unused spaces.
How about blue?
Wow, I'm not sure how effective a gunship in the shape of a hammerhead shark would be, but it certainly looks awesome!
I don't care about realism.
All I want to do is to realize what I have in my own imagination.
Thank you very much

The HammerHead Gunship floats.
I just recently got my hands on a backup of my own texture pack edit which i luckily have full permissions to edit and share.
Render above was made using that exact texture pack.
Looks amazing! Great job!
Build Planes, Boats, Cars, Airships and fight!

Figured it was time for a change.

There is now a cut out on the belly where pipework, a small loading dock with a cable winch to pick things up.
Also - drop pods!
This build is amazing! What are the dimensions? And, will there be a download available in the future?
edit: fixed punctuation
It's currently 703 blocks long and made from 2.201.640 blocks if mcedit tells the truth.
It will be up for download for free a fews days after completion when I have all the renders and a cinematic done to properly present it
I wonder if mcedit counts air blocks? Otherwise, you have some real dedication, placing over 2 million blocks.
In other news, I really like that underbelly bay
It does count air blocks but i already subtracted them from the number it gave me at first.
Absolutely beautiful. Nice to see such a great build, it brightens my day
thank you very much
So I guess you have some real dedication then
I do... sometimes.
Smoke is now coming out of the side exhausts and fire is coming out of the lower thruster and is reflected by the blast shield.
