This is a massive project to recreate Spyro the Dragon, Ripto's Rage, and Year of the Dragon in Minecraft! While it's not intended as an adventure, there are optional collectibles, plus puzzles to solve and interiors to visit as you explore a blocky rendition of all the Spyro levels.
This project is updated very slowly. Six months to a year between releases isn't uncommon. But despite any radio silence from me, I haven't lost interest on this project yet, I promise.
Remember to check on this thread if you're interested in seeing the progress of the levels. And if you ever want screenshots or an update, feel free to ask anytime.
Current Progress: 6/22/20 - Artisans World is finally complete! (Yes, really.) I realize 1.16 is literally tomorrow but I just wanted to be done.
So much for tomorrow. Oops. Anyway it's done now, screenshots and downloads above for anyone who's interested. Any requests for a world from Artisan's? If I don't get one I'm doing Stone Hill next. xD
Looks quite interesting actually. Perhaps you could add some terraforming if there were mountains or woodsy areas. I'm sure there wasn't just flat plains in the Spyro world.
I just built what I saw, like had the game running while I built so I wouldn't miss a detail. There were a couple mountains (see the upper western corner) but other than that this level is just hills. xD The terraforming might look a bit sloppy though, landscaping is what I'm the worst at. xD Thanks, you guys.
Yeah, me too. I only just beat all the games recently (except for YotD, that I managed to do before xD), but I'd just spend an entire day playing as a kid. xD
Sorry for the lack of updates, I haven't been working on this as much as I could have. >.< Not much left to do, just add the cliffs to the other side, put hills on them (you can see they're all flat now), add a couple towers I missed and decorate them all, add dandelions to the other side and on the cliffs, and put the sheep and shepherds down. Should only be 1-3 days before I'm done. (Because I'm so great at predicting.) xD
The games I'm building are all on the Playstation original, and available on the PS Store on 3-4 now. The one you played was probably Enter the Dragonfly, or maybe A Hero's Tail (I don't remember if that's just Xbox or Gamecube too). I won't be building those, at least not on this project, I'd start a separate project for them since I don't really consider them canon. xD
Aw, you should pick them up if you ever get a PS3 or 4. Spyro 3 isn't greatest hits though, so some of the music is broken. I just muted the music and played the right track through Youtube. xD Thanks. xD
Stone Hill is all done now. I guess I don't need to post the images twice if the images are in the front post... So, uh, scroll up and look at those. xD And the widget is taking its sweet time so here's a download link if anyone wants it: http://minecraft.curseforge.com/worlds/228803-spyro-the-dragon
Just as a warning, the journals and such got a bit... dark in Stone Hill. So maybe don't read the books there and ignore the sign-graffiti house if you want Spyro to remain happy happy funtimes. xD
Dark Hollow is up next, but if anyone want me to build one of the other three worlds instead, I'll get on that after I update Pokemon. xD
Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been pretty lazy. This is like two days of work, when I started I only had the tiny hedge area. xD Luckily Dark Hollow is a pretty teeny level so I can make up for my laziness pretty quickly. xD
I know Spyro's lighting is weird and the walls aren't actually blue in that level, but I thought it would be cooler than just using sandstone again. xD
There may be a handful of enemies (for instance the spiders in High Caves), but most of the Spyro enemies don't have a Minecraft counterpart, so I can't put them in. If a modder wants to make a mod that adds gnorcs and gems and whatnot then they can knock themselves out, but otherwise, it's just a simple map.

Title Screen
Artisans Home
Stone Hill
Dark Hollow
Town Square
Toasty
All of the main buildings and areas are done now, just some landscaping and the big castle left. I'll probably be done tomorrow. xD

Hope this helps and have a cake!
Wow they actually look pretty accurate from what I remember great job

Terraforming and Landscaping are useful yet hard tactics to use. Perhaps look up on how to Terraform or landscape and you may know a thing or two.

I remember playing this on the gamecube... (Or was it the Playstation 1/2?) I don't remember. I don't even think it was on the Playstation...
Now all we got is skylanders.... Ugh.
I don't not know what game it was, but it was a fun game to play when I was like... 8. So this is really nice!

Pretty much everyone hates Skylanders. xD
Thanks~ xD

Aww man I absolutely love it
Thanks.
Finally finished. Hopefully I won't be so lazy when I do Town Square. Scroll up for pictures. xD Download link because Curse Widget hates me: http://minecraft.curseforge.com/worlds/228803-spyro-the-dragon
Wow, this is awesome! Sure brings back memories. Very well done. How do you go from one level to the next btw? Are there bridges or something?
So many mods, so little time.
Thanks. xD You have to find the portal and push the button in it. You could also fly to them but just using the portal is better. xD
Will there be authentic working enemies as well? And Spyro combat mechanics?
