I am trying to make a chicken collector underground. I don't think it matters weather it is above ground or not as long as it is lit up properly. I have built a room that is 15X15. In the center, I have made a 1x1 hole for the chickens to drop into which then has a sticky piston with a block attached to it to kill the chickens and then a hopper to collect all the drops and place into a container.
i am trying to use water to draw all the chickens into the center of the room. my only problem is in some areas where the water meets other water, i get dead zones in the flow where the chickens sit. I have 4 dispensers with buckets of water that is controlled by a redstone circuit per wall. I have uploaded a picture for you to see my set up. i am still in the works to make more dispensers to make each wall balanced. It is hard to collect enough string quickly to make enough bows.
If I fill up all the slots in the wall with dispensers, will that eliminate the dead zones? Do I need to redesign the room?
