So, I am in Survival mode on a difficulty setting of Peaceful, and when I stand on x -224 y 69 z 295 I am receiving damage. There is nothing here. The damage happens when I am standing on any kind of block that I have tested, including Cobblestone, Granite, Andesite, Stone, Diorite. It also happens when I remove the block and walk into the space, still at the y-axis of 69. or get very close to where the block was.
Has anyone ever experienced a random damage location like this? Does anyone know if this points to something, such as a mob spawner or something else being at this location at a lower y-axis?
Also, if I go one block lower, or one block higher, the damage does not happen.
It could be that there is an invisible block 36 entity at that location. Have you ever had any pistons/redstone contraptions at that location? If so then there is a bug in console edition where when a piston extends and the chunk the piston is in becomes unloaded in the same gametick the piston or sometimes blocks that they're pushing can become invisible. These invisible blocks do not have a hitbox, but cause suffocation damage and cause the player to not be able to place a block in that location (good way to confirm this). Currently there is nothing that can be done to fix this, a couple updates ago 4j changed block 36 so that it cannot be destroyed by any means (even a wither cannot remove it). Before this tnt would remove any invisible blocks.
One thing that occurred to me a couple weeks ago but I haven't been able to test is if Myren Eario's tile tick method of removing bedrock will work for this problem. It works to remove bedrock on console edition, so my guess is it would work for block 36 as well, as they now have virtually the same properties. I haven't been able to get an invisible piston in my testing, it is a relatively difficult thing to do when your trying xD.
Oh, and since you posted here I'm assuming your playing the legacy console version and not Better Together/Bedrock? If your on Bedrock then none of this info is relevent and you want the 'Minecraft' forum, not the x-one forum.
