I also got an Xbox One S on Black Friday with the game (disc) and it won’t let me get the new one for free. It prompts me to but wants me to pay. And I have the Xbox Gold that I payed for. I also have 10 hours of gameplay. I would like to know why also.
Hey, i had this problem too, i bought the physical game on the 16th of dec, and i played for over 30hours, and bought Adventure Time DLC, i kept getting the prompt when starting the game, that i would get the free one but the page it took me too kept charging me the 19.99,
i contacted Xbox Support, gave them a screenshot of the minecraft message that says i get the free version, and they saw i dowloaded a dlc, but i also took a screenshot of my playtime in case they asked.
Xbox ended up buying the game for me on xbl, so then it showed up as "owned"and i downloaded it.
dunno how common that course of action is for them... but contact them before the 30th
I have had the console and the disk based game since Christmas, I purchased a skin pack (I assume that covers the DLC requirement) and we have way more than 5 hours, yet still no update available. Who should I be contacting about this?
A quick update, I contact Microsoft XBox One support via chat, they confirmed that many customers had contacted them with the same issue and that they are fixing the issue but no time frame. So the question is what if it’s not fixed until after the 30th deadline?
Another update, the 18th has passed which is when i was told by one of the 4 support staff I have spoken to and it still doesn’t work and no one still seems to have a clue about this. This is a right joke, so i have tried Microsoft is it worth trying Mojang support? Where have most people had luck with this? It would be nice if Mojang/Microsoft actually posted somewhere that there is a current issue and not to worry about the 30th january deadline.
