I watched the same stream (I was the one asking about map sizes.) He confirmed that maps transferred to Bedrock, from existing consoles, have infinate maps. He specifically stated "when you hit the edge of your old world, it'll just keep going with new terrain".
Remember, infinate is not literal. Even on PC you hit a limit eventually. If their limit is as big as the beta on Win10 (which it is), it will be so big as not to matter.

Thank you for posting what he said.
You must have watched more of the stream than me. The part I saw he didn't say any of that.
Anyway sounds like he explained it much better than he did the last couple of times someone asked about infinite worlds.
This is a relief as infinite worlds is the best thing about the update and the main thing i'm really looking forward to
Go watch the replay, he says it shortly after 30:00
"As it stands, when you import the world and you get to the edge, it will just automatically start making new"
Had trouble finding the part you mentioned at first. But I found it now, it turns out you watched the Minecraft UK stream with different presenters. They did a much better job at explaining things than the guy did in the american streams.
One of them was an actual producer on the game (Pops Ramjet) so I'd hope so lol.
Just saw another stream by that Pops Ramjet. Showed actual footage from the xbox one beta including world creation and the infinite world option was there. Now really looking forward to the bedrock edition.
Man, the one map I really spent time exploring, I got tired of traveling around (horse/boat, no Elytra in the game at the time) after just filling in the center 9 maps. Never even started on the outer ring of maps. "Infinite" worlds? I can't even. :-)

My favourite world is an old world that was done before they added the new blocks like granite and before they added new biomes and beetroot. Had explored most of it and ended up having to abandon it and start a new map just to get the new biomes.
This is even though I have built many bases including spending hours getting grass to grow at level 13 underground so I can keep sheep in my underground base.
None of my worlds since have been anywhere near as good as my old world
Now i'm really looking forward to expanding it and never having to start a new world again
That is a good point. My old world lost all of its trading villagers in the "kill all villagers in minecarts" bug so i started a new one. But that old world wasn't fully explored and while it had a pretty decent base and the start of a subway system, pretty much everything I built was contained in the spawn map, so I wasn't giving up as much as you had to. Nice that you'll be able to bring in some new materials for your old world.
Yeah, that's pretty neat for MC players. Too bad it's not an Xbox One X. I just pre-ordered the Project Scorpio version, but I absolutely would have bought a Minecraft version if they had it.

It looks cool. Just it will only ever play the bedrock edition...
Why would that be? It's just an Xbox One S with a special design. Any game you own can be loaded onto it, including Minecraft Xbox One Edition. It might ship with the Bedrock/Better Together version (or a code to download it I guess), but if you own the Xbox One Edition and prefer it, just load it up.

I meant to say that would be the only Minecraft to run on it. But the Beta is out today so yay I guess.
Yes. All Xbox One games you own will work on the Xbox One S Minecraft Edition and the Xbox One X. Just log into Marketplace and re-download. All of the back-compat Xbox 360 and original Xbox games will also work on any of the consoles.
Tried the beta last night. Really neat to see servers with 5,000 players on them. Not a fan of the UI, but I guess they have to make it work for phones and the Switch as well as my enormous 4K TV. I'm hoping that a future update (or resource pack) makes the game "console aware" and gives me a 4K UI.
Odd to see Anti-aliasing as an adjustable parameter on a console game!
ell, I don't have any insight into the future of the various console editions. If I had to guess, I'd say that the console editions will slow down in maintenance & updates and eventually they will stop being updated. I'd be surprised if any updates or patches come out for any of the console versions after one year post-Bedrock release. Bedrock Edition - or, just "Minecraft" as they will be calling it - will eventually be the only version (besides Java and PS4) getting updates. And I'm sure they'll keep working to bring PS4 into the fold.
Q: What is going to happen to the old console edition?
A: The old console edition will not be available for new purchase after the full release of Minecraft on Xbox One and Switch. Existing owners will still be able to access and play the old console version and minigames, but those versions will not receive updates after the official release of Minecraft.
On the plus side for mini-games players is, as noted a few times in this thread, servers can create and host all sorts of mini-games and frankly you're likely to see a wider variety of games with dozens or hundreds of server owners developing them than with whatever few resources 4J can dedicate to the console version. Some of the games might be great, some might suck, but eventually I think you'll have a much better & larger variety to choose from.

Will Mini-Games get updates?

So buying Season Passes were a waste of money?
