First, he says he's "not sure", thus I put more weight into Mojangs definitive "yes".
Second, the question was a generic "console". Not Bedrock or Better Together.
No the question was definitely about bedrock especially as he mentioned realms in his answer. I saw the question in the text chat
But yes he didn't sound sure so hopefully i'm worrying about nothing. I suppose we'll just have to wait for the beta

Why don't you tweet Roger Carpender? Won't he know because I thought he was answering questions?

Not sure who that is.
I'll just wait for the beta. I'll know one way or another if what was said on the twitch stream was correct or not if there is no infinite world size option in the beta.
At this point, I'm done. I'm waiting for the beta. Trying to overcome the level of Stockholm Syndrome on this forum is pointless.
They are giving us almost literally everything we've ever wanted.
Realms? Check.
Unlimited maps? Check.
Servers? Check.
Custom Skins? Check.
Mods? Check.
Free Upgrade to all of the above? Check.
Will it have a rocky start? Absolutely. And it will also have a learning curve. It will take some getting used to.
But the reaction here, on Minecraft's own forums? Rage. It makes no sense at all.
Not sure how not wanting a feature removed is stockholm syndrome. The guy who works for mojang/microsoft totally contradicted what has been said in the past about infinite worlds. What he actually meant when he said local worlds on xbox one being limited is just something I will have to wait and see about.
The OP also had valid concerns about mini games too. I don't care about them myself but I can see why he's concerned about it. It's not stockholm syndrome if he doesn't want a feature removed.

All of the mini games currently on Xbox edition originated from servers, the possibilities for mini games and 'maxi' games with mods and servers will be endless, literally endless, hell, you could even create the perfect mini game yourself.
I personally cannot wait for the update, I'm sure everything currently missing that is of value to the customer base will be added soon enough, probably even improved, we're missing co-ords (my biggest gripe). I predict mods and official updates will add the option for co-ords on maps/screen/always on customisable mini maps.
The best feature (other then realms/mods/crossplay) has to be (for me) the mob cap lift. This is awesome news.
One final point... I consider Mojang (in comparison to other game companies) ethical to their customers. We have always had free updates, anything that you pay for is generally aesthetics and does not impact on the full experience. This is a necessary change in terms of the business model.
The worlds will be bigger, but there is a size restriction. I very highly doubt you would reach that limit unless you are just flying around everywhere. When the console edition gets its last update you will be able to walk beyond the barriers that are there now. Does everyone just knee jerk post before understanding what is being said?
There's a save game max limit in place now. It's the same one he's talking about. I've never heard anyone hitting even near that with the world sizes they are now. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Also bedrock edition is unlimited. Period. The game is universal across all platforms. They aren't going to make a bedrock console version. I'm talking about the old console edition with that last post. As for file size.

Maybe your right. If you are then the guy on Mixer should do a better job clarifying what he means instead of just saying yes to realms and no to local.
The mixer streams have gone from saying we will definitely get infinite worlds on xbox and switch when asked about it a couple of weeks ago to now implying we only get them on Realms.
I just wish they would hurry up and release the beta so we can know for sure.

As far as I know there is no limit on the xbox one version, other then actually reaching the max possible size of your hard drive. There still exists a limit on the 360 and ps3, due to it being a 'xbla' title, and thus they are bound to the rules and regulations that were setup by Microsoft for arcade titles. When the game came to xbox one, it was on longer bound by those rules and regulations. Especially considering that the xbox one can make full use of the cloud. 4J stuidios was the limiting factor to our current world sizes. Our current worlds are handled pretty close to how the PC java version works other then the lack of spawn chunks and the ability to load chunks in other dimensions via sending items through them via portals.
The truth is that 4J borked many of our worlds, time and time again. Many of these bugs should never have made it to us, its almost like they didn't even play test the game at all before shipping it out the door. Time and time again we received updates that we should never have received, and to make matters worse, they kludged the code to make our broke worlds keep working, over time these kludges begin to show themselves, and that today we suffer from, ie lack of hostile mob spawns in highly optimized farms, that spawn but a handful of mobs at a time.
4J also expressed their dislike of certain farms (Iron farms for example), and pretty much ignored the bugs, which I personally think they put into the code to stop iron farms from working; for not but a few weeks, but over a year before addressing 'some' of them, others include squids which would not spawn in any man made water sources, ect, their are many others, to which anyone whom follows the bug tracker can a test to.
Once a Year we pretty much receive a major update, which is right around Christmas time, its always super hyped up, and every signal time it always has stupid bugs that should not have made it to public, that breaks the game and makes it unplayable till they get a patch to us, some weeks later, often injecting the code with yet more kludges.
It's just over 22 minutes into the video

He is the lead of of Minecraft console.
Again, you can't do these things on Switch.
How do you know you can't do this on switch?
I read the Switch has an SD card slot. Surely mods could be put on an SD card and added to the game that way?
I think it has to be loaded through USB.
Yes on Xbox. But if switch does have an SD card slot then I see no reason why they couldn't use that
I guess maybe.
Watching another official Minecraft stream on Mixer.
A few minutes ago someone asked about infinite worlds he said Yes for Reams but no for local due to limitations.
So in other words we have to pay for infinite worlds.
This better together is starting to look like it will be a major disappointment.

I understood what he said.
He said worlds will be infinite on realms but not local.
The way he said it suggests you need to pay for a realm to get an infinite world
