Rather than continue the risen-from-the-dead thread about 1.9 I figured I'd start one specifically about the new update. And for giggles I added a poll. Note that not all of the listed choices have been confirmed for the December update. But a boy can dream...
Yeah, having just found my first ocean monument (I've spent a looooot of time just building up my Overworld base and also summoning/killing a "The Wither"; never really did much ocean exploring) I'm very interested to see End Cities. I'm hoping that since I haven't been to The End yet, it'll generate with all the new features after the update. I really like my current base and don't wanna start a new world...
I'm looking forward to new boats, and trap doors you can place anywhere. I really hope they implement end cities somehow without resetting the end. I have my tree farm there and an ender pearl farm, and an obsidian farm. As it is I have to tear a bunch of stuff out if I want to respawn the dragon, if I have to reset the end then theres a lot more I have to reclaim before I can do that. I've already spent the last month preparing for this update, making golden apples, sending wood, pearls, and obsidian by the double chestfull to the overworld and nether, it'd be nice if it didn't take me another month of reclaiming resources to be ready to get an elytra.
So I don't really understand how resetting the end works on Pc, is it just the dragon or the whole end? Cos I remember reading something and people saying that resetting the end didn't re spawn the shulkers on the pc version that they are limited so if the shulkers don't get reset I would guess (maybe wrong) that it's a local reset on the area of the end dragon maybe????
If it works the way it does on pc; when you resummon the dragon the end portal blocks will be replaced with air and the obsidian pillars will regenerate, including the crystals and bars at the top, but no end stone is regenerated.
Our reset end feature will likely work exactly like the reset nether feature currently does, where the dimension will be completely regenerated from the beginning, erasing what was there.
The good thing about that is it will make shulker shells an indefinite resource, once they are added. But if your like me and like to build in the end then anything you've built there will be lost if you don't remove it first.

Let's hope they have an option to reset the End.
What no love for Chorus Fruit? lol

You're correct - there was a tweet with a picture of a Reset the End option when loading worlds. So it seems likely.
