People fly when playing in Creative Mode. In creative Mode you fly, enemies don't atack and you have infinite resources to build.
To farm animals need food to breed. Cows and Sheep need wheat, pigs need carrots, chicken need seeds, cats need fish and wolves need meet.
To orientate yourself you can craft a compass. The Compass point towards your original spawn point. Since worlds in the XBox aren't infinite like in the PC this should suffice.
I looked up creative mode and it doesn't sound as fun to me and I'll stick to survival >:)
I know how to make wheat so I should be able to make my cows and sheep have babies. Do you grow it in their pen? Is there a special place to find carrots? I've never seen a cat but would like to!!
i also looked up the compass and that will help me big time!
Thanks again!!! I can't wait to have a ton of animals so I don't have to worry about eating.
I'm glad that I'm able to help :). Carrots and Potatoes are rare drops from zombies (but I don't know if they are present in the console versions). Cats spawn in jungle and are a pain to tame... you also can find all sort of usefull info in the wiki: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Minecraft_Wiki
You can grow the food plants anywhere, they grow faster near water (1-4 blocks away), you have to harvest the food and give it to the animals yourself, they won't graze.
Except that sheep graze grass to regrow their wool if you have sheared them.
According to the Wiki, carrots and potatoes are in the console edition, they can also be found growing in villages.
-Is there an easy way to remember where your house is?
So, for a newb, building a compass is probably a bit down the road, since you will need iron (relatively easy to find when exploring caves/mines, but there are several things you should set up before you go underground) and redstone (significantly harder to find underground, and also requires iron to make the pickaxe to mine it out of the ground).
For the n00b to easily find home, it's easiest to just build a very tall tower out of dirt. What you need:
1) a stack (64) of dirt (not sand)
2) several torches - at least 4, but about 25 is better
To build tower:
A] Crouch for safety! (push left stick down once)
B] Use the jump-place trick (look straight down and hold A to jump while holding left trigger to place dirt) to place 3 blocks of dirt (and pushing you up 3 blocks in the process)
C] Lean over one side of the stack (you will not fall off if you are crouching) and place a block of dirt on the side of your tower (always do this on the same side)
D] Lean over the opposite side and place a torch (if you brought 25 torches)
E] Repeat A-D until you have exhausted your stack of dirt
-- At this point you should be standing on a 50-ish block high tower of dirt, with one block attached to the side every three blocks up
F] Place 4 torches around the top of your tower, plus one on top if you have enough left
G] Shovel or punch your way down the "side blocks" that you attached each 3 levels; you will not take damage falling only 3 blocks on the way down
Now you have a lit beacon tower that you should be able to see for quite a distance. If you are in a mountainous region, you might need to use two stacks of dirt for a REALLY tall tower.
Later you can craft a stack or two of ladders and a stack of glass blocks and install an observation deck near the top.

hey all!
I am brand new to minecraft and have a few questions that are probably stupid...
I play this on my Xbox one and would like to know:
-How do people fly?
-How do you make farm animals have babies?
-Is there an easy way to remember where your house is?
sorry if these are dumb and thanks for reading!

By the way, Welcome to the game!

Just testing.
Thanks everyone this is all really helpful! That website will help me with a whole lot!
Ok thanks! Can people come on your game if you don't have online for Xbox?
i don't have a Xbox, so i dont know, it might use local wireless but i can't be sure
You can play Multiplayer locally. Splitscreen on the TV without being online.
