I know melons are in the game and you can acquire them via seeds/creative, but do they spawn in world gen? As far as I know they should spawn in Jungle biomes, but after about an hour of constant search I haven't seen one.
Melons won't spawn in jungles until we get the 1.7 update equivalent.
