I used a slime chunk finder in my xbox one world and i found 2 slime chunks next to each other so i mined all of the areas out. checked the Z's and X's and everything is correct. I lit up all the areas, made the room 3 high, standing 24 blocks away and still, there is nothing spawning, why??

Like two folks above mentioned, light up all the caves around your chunks. I have found that slimes spawn better at night, and even better on a full moon night. Use jack-o-lanterns in the floor to light up your chunks. You may not think you have caves nearby, but I bet you do.

The cave lighting is for sure the right thing to do and I also suggest jacks in the floor for lighting. For me I make the rooms 5 high and they spawn frequently.

I did a level 4-39 slime chunk that took a week (23x23x35) and found I wasn't getting any spawns
turns out sliems don't spawn if you're too close. get at least 24 blocks away but closer than 128 :-)
