Hey, To unload a chunk, you have to be out Of render Of that chunk and save and relog, but if you go to the nether dimension, and go to the other part Of the world with portals, do you have to relog in the nether or not. If you can give especific data about chunk unloading in old gen I would really aprecciate it.
When you enter the nether the overworld unloads a maximum of 15 seconds later, no matter what. The chunks are no longer entity processing, but some info is kept in memory. The passive mob and villager caps are not reset to zero like if you would exit and relog. This goes for any dimension change, end nether or overworld.

So I should go to the nether, exit and relog and go to the place I wanna go through nether tunnels?
Yup, to completely unload everything.
