How old is your world? I saw bug reports on extreme lag on old worlds. My survival world was created at tu31, and if anything game performance has improved for me. Chunks seem to load a little faster and my large farms run at decent tickspeeds. Tu46 was a low as far as performance, but the subsequent updates have reduced crashing and lag considerably for me.
Are you experiencing framerate lag or tickspeed lag or both? Does it happen no matter where you are on the map? Or just when your in a certain spot?

My xbox 360 Minecraft just updated and now lags big time. Before this update it never lagged and when it lags it freezes.
