I don't know what subforum to put this is so I put it here. It says when I load my world on my XBOX 360, it says "4JStudios removed Herobrine, we think." And I've seen in the update log I don't know what version it was, but it said "herobrine removed" So I don't really know what is going on. My cousin said that they removed herobrine because the people that play Minecraft got scared of him and stopped playing the game. I don't really know but just asking.
Trust me, from someone that has visited just about every ounce of code that makes up the PC version, and from which the console version was derived from, there is no trace, nor has there ever been of anything regarding herobrine.
So the name Herobrine actually started long ago on a message board, where someone attempting to get some attention posted, that things in his world had been altered and that he was being stalked within his world by something named 'Herobrine'. It was largely dismissed and never got much attention. Much later a streamer by the name of 'Copeland', took a liking to the story and staged some footage of it for his users, he acted the part quite well, and it got some major attention, and drew in quite the crowd, another streamer let the cat out of the bag so to speak and blew the 'act', which angered Copeland, and well that pretty much ended the Herobrine erra, however to this day he still stands as an icon so to speak.
As it stands today the only way to encounter Herobrine in any way is by use of mods on PC, perhaps one day we may see him become yet another boss, but as it stands right now and as I mentioned above there is no code to support such a mob.

4J was just continuing the joke. Herobrine has been a running joke for years. But that's all it is: a joke.
