My son and I have been working on this world for over a year we played this morning, but downloaded the latest update and went to play in our saved world and its a blank new world everything was dark and we could not look around. Is there anyway we can get our world back the thumbnail still shows our world. now I know we should have done a back up after reading other forums but I didn't know it was possible for an update to mess up a world.
Resetting to defaults in the options fixes the darkness and movement issues; however, the world is probably dead. Don't know why, but every update must feed on worlds before it can be strong enough to have its bugs fixed.

I heard that this happened in the last update too but tu 48 was supposed to fix it.
I always make a fresh back up copy on a memory card every few weeks of my main world I had for 5 years.
