First of all, people please stop locking my posts! I didn't know my first post was considered a "wishlist",so just please people show me a bit of Mercy here(I only been on the forums one day)! So anyways,I noticed on both my,and my cousin's Xbox, that rabbits only seem to spawn in Tundra biomes,But when I go on my Pocket Edition,or watch PC let's plays, they seem to spawn in EVERY biome(even in desserts&oceans)!
Why did Mojang do this, and will they ever fix this? I had to hunt for a mineshaft spawner, and cheat in creative mode for a rabbit egg, to even get them spawning from my world that's mainly a Plains Biome! P.S. please don't lock my posts again...
First off, if your post was locked then you posted something you shouldn't have, you should read the rules and terms of service.
Rabbits spawn in snowy taiga and desert biomes, on any solid block, light level >9. At the moment that is the only place you will find them. All passive mob spawning is messed up imo, and farming animals in pens is pretty much useless on console. Natural spawns happen very quickly and the despawn mechanic can leave animals trapped in places where they will never despawn. This takes up mob cap and makes it so that we can only have a couple animals in a pen at a time before we hit cap. As far as will it ever get changed, we can only hope. There have been many suggestions as to how to improve passive mob spawning, but 4j seems to have better things to do.
There are ways of farming rabbits that naturally spawn, but it requires a huge amount of work to remove any spawnable area in a large (260 block) circle around the farm. Its not really worth it. Your solution of turning a spawner into a rabbit spawner is probably the best way I've heard to farm them, but you loose the ability to earn achievements.
I'm going to assume that your after rabbits feet for jump potions, because there are easier and better ways to gather food and leather. If thats the case, imo, game time is better spent hunting wither skeletons and building iron/gold farms. Beacons are far more useful, imo.
OK,thanks! I actually didn't know that they could spawn in desserts too,i'll check my world's dessert biome, and some other world's dessert biomes. Thanks for the help!
