Does hardened clay count on the clay leaderboard

I want to know if when I mine hardened clay it counts towards the clay leaderboards.... I live near a massive Mesa biome

Hardened clay != clay.

Also, the leaderboards are botched beyond recognition (it says I have over 20,000 spider jockey kills). Why are you tracking them anyhow?
