Heavy sarcasm if you couldn't tell. 4j have already stated - and, in fact, demonstrated - that XBox and Playstation Editions are getting Realms. It's just a question of when.
The first place you would hear anything like that is 4J's Twitter page.
That's not true though. 4j's twitter has literally nothing about Realms even though they have been announced, even if a specific date has not. They're just hyping up the Cash-Grab Battle Update.

It seems you are already the leading expert on this Realms issue... You certainly know more about it than I do. But then, in my defense, I don't really care. I let my Live Gold account expire years ago. Otherwise I'd be hosting all the Adventure maps I've built over the years.
And don't be that guy- the one that tries to blame greed or "cash grabbing" as the reason for anything you don't like/understand. I bought MCx360e back in 2012 and still play it occasionally today. There is no other Arcade game that has given me so much enjoyment and value then MC and the folks at 4J should be praised for dealing with all the whining over the years. To quote a former member on these forums, "You bought the game you wanted." You shouldn't expect to get anything more.
PS - I'm pretty sure the "Battle Update", like all the previous ones, will be free. In fact, it's Realms that you should probably pay a service fee to use.

Yup, and they announced the Cash Grab update years ago. If that follows the same pattern, then it'll be years again, and I doubt that the older consoles will still be getting updates by then.

Didn't they say at E3 this year that Realms was coming to console edition in 2017?
Maybe we will find out more in the announcements at the 2016 Minecon in a few months.
I think they just said add-ons were coming to console edition in 2017, while promising Realms just in a general sense. I could be wrong, but I've looked for any sources to suggest otherwise and haven't found any.

Does anyone know when Console Edition (either XBox One / 360 or PS4 / PS3) will be getting access to Realms?

Try searching for "friendly update" instead of realms. You'll find quite a few articles talking about realms for console next year.
Will do - is the "Friendly Update" the one that contained support for realms? I'm not a PC player
