Ok so I started up my world like any other minecraft player. I was in a party chat with some friends as I waited for one of my friends to join my world. I left my character alone standing in a completely enclosed house. I was playing on my phone as I waited when in the corner of my eye I seen my screen move as if it looked like it zoomed out but instead my character was hit 8-9 blocks back by something that wasn't even in the room. I was left with only half a heart (I had full health and had full iron armor on). As I reached for my controller my character lit on fire and died.
I told my friend to hurry and join to grab my stuff cause I was on the respawning screen for a while time. He joined and he went to get my stuff and it was all gone. I was stuck on the loading screen for more then 10 minutes waiting to load. Through that time my friend claimed my jungle tree burned down I wasn't sure to believe him or not. He sent me a pic of the burning tree and I thought maybe he burned it down to mess with me but he sent me a video of him getting randomly hit by nothing and I was freaking out. I never got to respawn cause it was taking forever but my friend saw me next to my bed with full iron armor which would indicate I still had my stuff. I just dashboarded and we went back it the world testing random stuff with mobs.
The closest we got was a bow with punch 2 that knocked me exactly 8 blocks but the fire is unexplainable since I didn't catch on fire for at least 10 seconds during the incident. It obviously has to be a glitch but it freaks me out so I want to know if this ever happened to anyone else???
Lightning strike? If it was storming then that may explain it. Normally the rain puts out fires quickly but if the lightning struck and it stopped raining almost immediately after then the tree would continue to burn. I've never been struck by lightning so I'm not sure what happens if you get hit. There is an area of effect that is 7 blocks square centered on the block that the lightning hit, this could explain how it got you through the wall.

Were you playing in hard mode? Maybe your character starved to death.
Was the tree near a lava pool?
