I dont know if anyone has done this before but if you get a beacon, slabs and the corresponding block that matches the slabs you can make a cool light source,
just place a block down with a beacon on top and then with any block that you can replace(dirt,sand etc) stack it next to the beacon so that the slab is placed on top of the beacon
also you can make a "you are here map" with it also with 4 maps and item frames and place a block on top of another block(that matches your slabs)
and on the block place all your item frames and maps on it
then break the block with the item frames on it and quickly replace it with a beacon and put a slab on top of it again
i also made a water grate its made with iron bars, stone bricks, stone brick stairs and 3 sea lanterns or more( how many blocks there are between the stair,), stone brick slabs the corresponding block that matches the wall it will be jutting out of(obsidian, wood etc)
fthe grate is 3 x 5-?r 4 x 5-?
first you dig 1 x 3(or how many blocks you want inbetween the stairs)(5,7,9 etc) blocks down and place sea lanterns there and then place stone brick slabs on top of them(so that they will be lit up during night time) then one block forward empty your water bucket there then place 3-(however many you want inbetween the stairs)iron bars behind them then place the stone brick stairs next to the slabs in front of the water and following the pattern going one and two blocks behind concieling the iron bars and preventing the water from leaking besure to do this on both sides
then place stairs on the insides(not center) of the 4-5 x 3-9 water grate so stairs that connect to more stairs
then place the block that matches the wall your connecting the water grate to and place it behind the iron bars 3x3 so that the back wall matches the block your using so it doesnt look out of place then place stone brick slabs and place it inbetween the top set of stairs and you are done
i may show screenshots so you can better understand and if any of you have any ideas like mien that youd like to share let me know

also these screenshots were taken from the pc version of minecraft however these can be made just the same on any version of minecraft that has the blocks needed(btw you can remove the sea lanterns if you dont mind it being too dark
