For some reason the new update isn't downloading on my Xbox 360. I can't go on my friends worlds because they are "playing on a newer version" I've tried deleting the title updates to make it redownload. I've restarted a million times. I've even restarted my router. Nothing is working. Does anyone else have this problem or knows of a solution?
Got the same problem. Done everything, reset Internet, deleted and reinstalled, content cache, deleted profile and redownloaded. I even contacted Xbox support and they can't do anything. So come on 4J a bit of help would be nice here

Both appear to be running the current build, and the update filesizes match, but they won't connect to each other, claiming that one of the installs is running older software than the other. I've tried deleting the software from each of the machines, clearing caches and reinstalling, but nothing seems to have made a difference.
Prior to this update, these systems had no problem connecting with each other.
Disappointing.
Edit: spent some time with Microsoft support. Clearing caches, deleting and re-downloading profile information, and forcing the console to re-update didn't resolve it. They recommend reaching out to the developer at https://help.mojang.com/customer/portal/emails/new

For this reason, I would remind you all about, and recommend, using Mojang's Official Bug Tracker to report this problem and hopefully get it fixed.

Nice to hear that Xbox support might be taking some initiative to sort out the issue with 4J instead of just passing people off to Mojang and 4J or onto the forums here (which is what has happened in the past).
Unfortunately after we pass the update onto Microsoft we have absolutely no control over it.
The update process is entirely a system issue.
@Catrinalt92 - Can you check Main Menu > Help and Options > Settings and tell me the Build number shown in the corner

I've already said this on mojang but. This must be a bug within the update. I've seen it in other games. My Xbox will just not update but yet 2 other Xbox consoles in my house have. Xbox support directed people to the developers for a reason ie they done everything what would normally prompt the Xbox to update the game. I have all the new biomes ect but when joining someone who has had the bug fix update I get the error that I'm unable to join because they are running a newer version.
So if Xbox can't help and 4J can't help where does that leave us
The only thing within the update that is important is the Build number.
The Build number for TU31 is 0828
The build number for TU32 is 0849*
The builds that are available to downloaded are correct as a large% of users have been given the update correctly.
I've raised the issue with Microsoft who are currently looking into the cause.
Edit: 845 was the original update and 849 was the re-submission.

Thanks for looking into this. The consoles do in fact report differing version numbers. One reports version 1.8.0849.0_DLC 0.00, and the other reports 1.8.0828.0_DLC 0.00 - TU 32 and 31 respectively.
The console that's still stuck on TU31 is logged in with gamertag Ravenfaye, Console ID 320575096401.
Gosh, I really hope they get this resolved for you guys soon!! On another thread, there has been some speculation that this is only hitting "preview" members... not sure what that is myself (so I guess I'm not one of those members and I was able to download the new update just fine). I'm also wondering if this is somehow tied to the problem with updates corrupting world save files that has hit some people with almost every update I can remember. Are the ongoing changes to Live somehow interfering with getting "good" downloads of the updates?
