Since ive really started exploring the Nether in the worlds I have saved I've always looked at them as a source of renewable resources since you can reset it. Either from chests, enemy drops, or naturally occurring things. I may take cobblestone to build shields/forts for respite. But I've never actually built anything that I intended to be permanent. What about y'all?

Yeah, I basically stopped trying to build anything significant in the nether when they brought in the reset. I like the reset though... makes obtaining sufficient glowstone for city towers feasible (the texture in the city pack is perfect for ceiling lights in skyscrapers).
One time I made a 'horror house' in the nether, it was small and served as a portal between two of my bases (the other one had no other entrance/exit), it was then accidentally deleted. From then on, I never made anything else in the nether, too scared of how easy it was to reset it.
Did you build it out of Nether material or bring stuff down from top side? That sounds like a cool thing to see. Was it like Nether creatures behind iron bars like a freak show?

I've built a house made out of cobblestone and around the house out of high blast resistance blocks and i was able to live in the nether for a while, course i was smart enough not to bring a bed cause' i go boom lol
Not much tbh, rail system for the long trips of the overworld, blaze farms, gold farms before 1.8. Mostly destroyed terrain to control Wither Skeleton farming lol. I've built some stuff on top of the nether just because its like a superflat world but that was on PC. I actually haven't tried to pearl up on top yet, anyone know if this works on Xbox one/360?
This video shows the type of structure that I build in the nether. Basically a cobblestone safe area/fort. This is my first time in the nether on the seed Golden Apple.

cobblestone forts after resets. I have built gardens etc. in the nether now use the resources more for above world builds.
Blaze Spawner. I would make a zombie pigman spawner, however the height limit doesn't expand far enough up like it does in the PC version.

I usually take over the fortress and build a base there. It's been even better since the Wither Skeletons were introduced.
I live there in servers and have rail systems and my sheep farm (so more animals can spawn in the overworld) there in my survival.
Stay fluffy~
I had not thought about using the nether to override the spawn limits on animals. That's a great idea.
It works wonderfully since every single animal can be a sheep without worry of there being cave cows or shelf sheep!
...granted you have silked grass.

Works just fine.

How do you do that? What can you do up there? Does reseting nether affect what you put up there?
Ender pearl, whatever the heck you want, it's still the Nether.
Stay fluffy~
