I tryed many times to get a iron glom built on new up date xbox 360.
I put down four iron blocks in a T and a jack o lantern on top, the Jack o lantern disappears and I get nothing. Tryed it with a normal pumpkin to no go.
Am I doing somethig wrong or did you change the recipe?
Iron golems are working just fine for me (and I'm testing them in peaceful). When you hit the limit (16 golems), the blocks fly apart, but you should be able to collect the 4 iron blocks and the pumpkin or jack-o-lantern again. If you have, say, a flower or a piece of tall grass under one of the arms, then the golem doesn't form, but the blocks stay together in the T-shape with the pumpkin or jack-o-lantern on top. There is no situation where the player "gets nothing" back. As I said, it's working fine for me.
