3.) As of now, it's random...I think. If not, it depends on the biome.
4.)"....deserts, flower forests, taiga, mega taiga, cold taiga, ice plains, ice mountains, ice spikes, and the "hills" and "M" variants of these biomes."
Well, if you say so... but I really don't think something like the "purpose of rabbits" would change from the PC version to the console version, anyways. The only thing up in the air right now seems to be whether or not they possibly brought forward the 1.9 spawning pattern (i.e. they don't seem to be spawning in the "usual 'passive' mob biomes" - which the Wiki lists as a 1.9 feature. So far, I've seen not seen them spawn in a normal plains and likely not in the normal mixed forest (but rather they spawned in a small stand of birch forest within the normal mixed one). I've also not seen any in the jungle yet. Also, I've not seen any that weren't either white, black and white, or just black. (There are several bug reports about this on the Mojang bug tracker).
Hey, everybody. I've yet to figure out some things about rabbits, so here are my questions:
1. Can you tame rabbits as a pet?
1.5 ^If so, will they telelport and follow you?
2. What are the purposes of rabbits?
3. What determines a rabbits 'pattern'?
4. Where do they spawn?
5. Can someone just give me a link to all rabbit skins? XD
1/1.5. No u can not tame rabbits
2. The purpose is to have something cute to find
3. It depends on witch biome the rabbit spawned in
4.(from the wiki "rabbits naturally spawn in deserts, flower forests, taiga, mega taiga, cold taiga, ice plains, ice mountains, ice spikes, and the "hills" and "M" variants of these biomes"
5. here is the link to the all the skins http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Rabbit (i know its the wiki, but it has all the different skins)

Seen brown rabbits in a spruce forest some time ago. Haven't seen any black ones but white and black, pure white and tan I have seen.

Still haven't seen a brown one or tan one personally, but I don't really believe there is a bug with the rabbits. Followed a white one for quite a distance just yesterday. It was being chased by a wolf... Kinda fun just watching them... until, of course, the wolf managed to catch the rabbit.
My daughterw lured one back to our home and built a fence around it and planted some carrots. It was hard cause of the wolves attacking them but she is happy with her pet.

1.) No.
2.) Looks, food, leather, leaping potions.

Stay fluffy~
From what I know right now:
They give you food like any other livestock
They drop "rabbit hide" which if you get 4 of them you can craft it into leather
They can't be tamed, but can be bred and will follow you if you have... I forget what. It's probably carrots (Why do pigs like carrots?).
I read this already.
math homework > minecraft > math homework
If you read it, why ask all the questions here when it answers them?
Because PC vs. consoles.
