You might be a victim of the infamous gamma bug. The game sometimes arbitrarily changes your settings when updating. Try going into "Help & Options" - "Settings" - "Reset to Defaults" then, if you had a custom (lighter) gamma setting than the default, change it back to the custom setting you had. Optionally, you could go directly to just the gamma setting... the drawback, however, is that if the game has changed more than the gamma, you may not catch it for some time. Resetting to the defaults first undoes whatever the update has changed itself regardless of what specific settings that was.
I never set the Gamma, but resetting didnt fix it. It seems it changes depending on the way I am facing so thinking its more of a shadow thing that I dont remember was ever there
I loaded the update and noticed that the map and game seems darker than it used to be. Is it just me or are others noticing this as well?
Perpetually negative

I noticed that too.
If you look at the map and then slowly turn in place, the map gets darker and lighter.
Is there new lighting that is casting a shadow on it?
Something's whack with the lighting. I know that walking into a different biome cn slightly alter the sky colour, but not like this.
Stay fluffy~
