Yes, sad... but when one thinks about it, these boards have been very active for over three years now... phenomenal really for any game on the Xbox 360. I think it was inevitable that things would slow down eventually. The PC boards will likely stay more active longer since the players there can discuss the more technical aspects (like the various ways in which they mod the game). Discussing bugs used to generate some activity, but then 4J moved their official bug tracking over to the Mojang Bug Tracker. All in all it means that there's really just less to talk about here. Also, over time, more console people are likely switching over to the newer consoles like the Xbox One and the PS4... leaving fewer people playing on the 360 to play any games with as the friends that pop up on sign in are, more and more frequently, listed as playing on the Xbox One.
The 360 version has been superseded by the One version, and I'm sure that many left here or opted to start on the One due to the larger world size and "next gen" stuff.
That's just the way it is, really. Nowadays all we have are the regular few talking about new features to come or whatever pops up by a new member. And the daily person who can't find the multiplayer section, if that counts.

True, but the XONE version is really just a superset of the 360 version. (That's one thing holding it back.) It runs with significantly less lag, and has the option to generate much-larger worlds, but at their core, I see them as the same thing. Everything I'm doing on the One's version now started as a 360 world.
As the 360 loses steam, it's inevitable that even its most popular games will shed players and forum contributors. The bigger problem seems to be that the One isn't gaining them back. I guess they're just moving on to other things.

Indeed, one could speculate that the whole nature of video gaming is shifting away from the consoles entirely... as even smaller devices (e.g. phones and tablets) gain momentum. This was something that Microsoft was basically counting on when they took over Mojang (i.e. they said that they were looking towards the phone market to make back their investment in purchasing Notch's shares of Mojang). However, I'm not ready to sound the death bell on the next gen consoles just yet... there are a lot of great games for the consoles still in the works out there. We'll have to see what happens as they get released. I do think Minecraft, however, will seen it's greatest longevity on the PC (due to it's core group of free modding fans). Regardless, it's still been a really good run for it on the Xbox 360... I'm sure Microsoft, 4J and Mojang have long since made a tidy profit on their investments in it.
Even with current gen there a quite a few issues. Fallout 4 released yesterday and broke gtaV's record of most cumulative players on steam at one time.
Fallout 4 had over 400,000 at its peak. Now correct me if I'm wrong but steam is pc right? Thats just night one. Even the graphhics suffer on current gen.
PC graphics such as facial structure tend to be a bit more fleshed out while XONE seems almost cardboard like.
The truth is simple. PC does not require you to pick a side. It generally has most every game, plays better, looks better and often modding is a factor.
The only reason consoles are still around is due to budgets and due to the fact that high-end gaming pcs are not cheap nor are they easy to update
for each new game that requires x or y. It gets to be a real hassle.
As far as where Minecraft fits in. You are talking about a game that is not updated frequently enough to maintain interest plus most people realize that
there are games more designed to cater to their gaming needs. Its all pretty simple when you look at it. A ton of kids joined in solely for pvping
with their friends. GTAV does that so much better. Or Gears of War or Halo 5.
As for the survival aspect, Fallout 4 overshadows minecraft in every way that matters. Crafting weapons, armors and goods. Building structures.
Actually surviving even including weather hazards. Other games are out performing minecraft and fulfilling those needs. Even PC will begin suffering
very soon. After all, how many times can you build the eiffle tower upside down with cake before it becomes stale? How many times can you build
anything before it gets old.
Minecraft has it's place in history and as it becomes more readily available on smartphones it will suffer in other areas. More pe players mean less console
and pc players. Eventually it will become the game you play while in the restroom or while at the doctors office, while other games reaquire the spotlight.

Minecraft is just getting old.
Being an old game doesn't make it a bad game. The top-rated video game of all time is, I believe, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - a VERY old game indeed (source: Wikipedia). How many still play it? - even in the restroom? In fact, the list doesn't have a game made in the 21st century until you get to Resident Evil 4 in 10th place (how many are still playing it?). Of course, there are differing opinions - IGN ranks Ocarina of Time at #8, Minecraft at #15, and Fallout 4 doesn't even make the list (yet). Fallout 3 is ranked at #78.
Also, being something you play on your phone in the restroom doesn't make it a bad game. Don't knock it. Look at the centuries that solitaire has lasted... even before Microsoft put in on almost everyone's computer. Sometimes it's those simple, quick little "restroom" games that outlast everything else. (caught someone playing Tetris on the bus not too long ago, which BTW is #10 on IGN's list). BTW, I don't think Minecraft is well suited to be a popular restroom game... it's not "short" enough... people like to finish their game and their business at about the same time... otherwise they're probably more inclined just to read a book.
I don't think it's a matter of any game "reacquiring" the spotlight... as technologies continue to improve, the spotlight will shine in turn on new, yet "unthought of" games.
And its certainly not about the grapic for minecraft lol. Plus the xbone have the same thing we have on x360 ?
Yes, any game is about having fun... with people or alone. (and, BTW, I wasn't criticizing your post). There is a multiplayer section here where people can still drum up friends to play with. You might want to check it out. Right now, yes, the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 have about the same content for Minecraft, but that will eventually change whenever 4J decides to stop supporting the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions and continue updating the next gen ones (i.e. Xbox One and PS4). It's something that will inevitably happen as the Xbox 360 becomes more and more obsolete... the other option being to limit all versions to something only the PS3 and Xbox 360 can handle... and no one really wants to see that. Ultimately, all versions of Minecraft will stop getting updates... as people move onto newer games. It's happened with every great game in the past, and will likely happen with Minecraft as well. Not necessarily a bad thing... since it's these old games that lay the foundation for the greater things yet to come... and we can still enjoy the oldies at least as long as our old systems will run or they make a "pocket" version to play on the bus (like with Tetris and, oh yeah, Minecraft PE). (Not requiring any tech to run is an advantage that really centuries old games have over video games. It's made them timeless... ... and there's something to be said about playing with a real, physical deck of cards or a simple 8 x 8 "world" and a few wooden disks, too.)
I just notice there's less and less people on the 360/minecraft. For what reason ?
I think its because there is no one who try to play others. At the 2 first year it use to be super easy.
But thanks to some "griefers" well people are afraid to put there game online so they play with private party instead.
Did people forget thta simple thing that make minecraft ?
Multiplayer.
Building together. Fighting together. Starving togheter !!
If anybody feel like it my world is almost open the whole day. Monday to Sunday. Free to explore and have fun.
Simple is that
"Enjoy and beat those damn creeper to a pulp"
"An extra pair of hand is never enough"

Stay fluffy~
For me, Minecraft is a game of solitude, one man trying to survive. I play with no one, and I love it.

Still will be fun to play with some people.
Unless yall forget the world we create on 360 work on xbone.
