Those designs have been like that for years. You're just going a bit too far with the textures.
As for the pack itself, it isn't worth it to those who already have the old version. The bouncing flowers are just annoying and the only other thing that you'll be missing is slightly different wool and window designs. Oh, and the material blocks have much more pronounced designs on them--they're still the same, just much more noticable and therefore somewhat less patternable. The music is fine, but I tuned it out pretty quickly; the Nether's was better, though. The small paintings are the same, while some are the larger ones are different or transparent now, so...that's a thing.
The world is a handful to explore if you're actually grounded instead of trying to see everything as quickly as you can. I spent a good hour in the northeastern house alone. And the disks are definitely going to be a challenge if that's your thing. I found one in a secret room in a secret room.
All in all I was not impressed since very little was changed and added from the previous one.

Weren't the original Halloween Texture Pack proceeds donated to charity anyways? I think a already developed world with an assortment of games and a working roller coaster is probably worth the $3.99, regardless of whether or not one already owns the texture pack... even just for the new exploration entertainment value (saving it for halloween night, BTW)... cheaper than a movie DVD and more interactive.

Nope, you're refering to the charity skin pack, now re-released in this mashup pack. The Halloween texture pack was always free and only available two days before Halloween started, but it's not available anymore, as it was now re-released as well in this mashup pack. So it's not much worth it if you already had the texture pack or the charity skin pack.

Still think the ready-made world is worth something. Judging from the trailer, 4J put a lot of effort into making it alone... and there are people out there who didn't previously get either. You can also, as always, download the trial pack to get a peak at it before deciding to buy it or not. The nice thing about DLC in this game is that you don't need to buy any of it to get all the achievements or enhance the ending of the game like you have to do with many other games.
I didnt get the Halloween pack from whenever it was released before, since I started playing much later, but like the textures of the pack. For me, another 4$ well spent
Same hear I had the free version of the texture pack but when I transferred my account to the xbox one from 360 I lost the free halloween stuff text pack and skins I also lost the Christmas one 2 but since bought it again so it was worth the money just to get back what I lost.
People assuming that I hate the pack when I don't.
I compared all of the textures "side-by-side." Wool is slightly different; coloured glass has changed; some paintings are different; things with eyes blink and move; flowers have the correct colours and are annoying; cacti go num num; chiseled sandstone has a face now; mineral blocks have a more pronounced pattern; torches are greener. Not a lot is really that different, though.
I personally prefer the faded mineral blocks and the wools without the designs; the paintings and windows each have their own ups and downs; I prefer the not-moving plants except when there are 50+ lined up.
I also totally forgot about the skins when I wrote he review above. Yeah, there are quite a few different and new ones. I'll have to compare the two evil doctors (or whatever the purple man is) and see whenever I get the full version since I use him as my main skin for October.
I hope the Mash-up remains available after the season since I missed both the charity skin pack and the original free Halloween TP, each time for separate and unforeseen circumstances. My xbox right now is in pieces on my workbench (Ana chip failure - gonna try to reflow the board).
Seems like someone doesn't want me to get spooky things.
Sure thing. I'm impressed with the mashup. (I assume it's the same as on the XONE, where I played with it today). The large rollercoaster is way more effort than I expected would go into this, It reminds me of the Ghostbusters and Beetlejuice coasters, and I wonder if those folks helped out with the mashup.
Edit: That assumes USA, though. Your link might be different, but it's not hard to find.
Thanks for posting this!! I don't play Minecraft, but my 7 year old loves it. I had given him my old Xbox 360. He had been dying to buy this pack for months. Finally I got him a wireless network adapter (used to be wired in another room). He had the pack for a few days and the Xbox broke.
Bought a refurb XBox and moved my old hard drive to it. For some reason, the Halloween pack hasn't been working since. I've been catching grief for 'breaking' his Halloween world which he was almost in tears about losing it. Hopefully this will help me fix it.
After hours of waiting I was finally able to get the halloween mash-up. Now, the mash-up is one of the best I have seen thus far.
The dim, deep yellow sky really contrasts with the spooky textures of the world. We also get to see some of the best
animated items such as the flowers and a few wools that really sell the spookiness. The music is almost nostalgic in the beginning
track and continues on with music that really fits the theme.
The mash-up world is very detailed and gives quite a few games for the player to enjoy plus a massive roller coaster that takes
you through some very uniquely designed and spooky locations. I have to say I am impressed. The entire experience with
the mash-up pack is very enjoyable. It really brings out the scary bit of minecraft.
The only "flaws" I had noticed was that most of the hostile mobs are textured in white but I really do not mind. I know I had
waited a long time for this and 4J did deliver. Touching on tu 31 and further updates. I had noticed something strange while
building my mega beacon. Iron, Gold and Emerald blocks have some interesting designs on them. So I decided to experiment
a bit. I placed down all the different condensed blocks to see if there was a pattern... and there was. Emerald then Gold
then Iron then redstone. E=T G=U I=3 R=1. Now I am uncertain but I do believe this was not just coincidence.
On the first 2 blocks literally are t and u. On the iron block is an x with a line from top to bottom creating 6 points. 6/2= 3
on the redstone block was an x creating 4 points 2/2 = 1. In the end we have t u 3 1. This might be a stretch but considering
that the big update has been teased and the holiday season is just kicking off is it possible that we may see tu31 in 4 weeks
from today? 1 week for each block? Or perhaps 9 days for each block? Grand totalling 36 days from today?
What do you think?

Stay fluffy~
figured it was a stretch. Just had never seen the textures before. Kinda stinks that it was not a bunch of improvements for those
who had the texture pack from 2 years ago. In the very least we get to see animated blocks beyond mucelium, redstone stuff
and torches. Perhaps this means 4J will be investing more in animated blocks in the future. Thats an exciting idea

Oh, I love the world for sure. What I'm saying is it isn't worth it if you're buying it just for the textures, skins and music like some people do.
If it took me 90 minutes to find two discs, then yeah, it's a good world (or I'm a bad hunter).
Stay fluffy~

Perpetually negative

You can grab that from the Xbox site on your PC.

Rock n roll!
Didn't know you could do that. Thanks.

But the textures, skins, and music is everything, so it's like you're saying 'don't buy the pack at all'
