I've used the same seed for two different saves (by accident, as I usually try to diversify my experience). I play on 360 and because new achievements have been added since the last time I played, I was hunting them, as an achievement hunter. My wife was wanting to play on the new untouched version of the world, which having the same seed as one I'd already started before and her wanting to start together. But the problem I ran into is this: a underground library/dungeon that was in the first created world, but not the second. I tried finding it to have ease of access to some books, bricks, and iron bars (fence). I couldn't find it in the same cavern network, so I loaded the older world to find the map coordinates. In the new world, the same coordinates put me in the middle of a cavern hall. On the surface, the worlds were (before we began construction) identical. The same islands, lakes, hill, trees, etc... So I'm confused as to why my library/dungeon is missing. Can anyone help?
Be sure you are at the same place by writing down x,y,z, exact, you can also open a new world with the same seed and load it in creative and see if it changes again, or use glitch with tnt to see how far stuff moved
Are both worlds created and fully explored using the exact same update version of the game? If not, the generation can and does sometimes change between updates. I have a seed that has been a favorite of mine that I've generated in several different update versions. I have noticed that somewhere between the last two or three update versions the location of the abandoned mineshafts changed in that seed. Might be a similar case with your library. Also, terrain is generated when you first explore a world... so if you created it but didn't explore around it, then the generation would be for the update version when you did explore it.
There was an update in between (at least I imagine so, seeing the new achievements). I've not fully explored the newer of the two. I'll try the tnt and creative modes to see if I can't find it. And if the update made me loose my library, that'll just be a bummer, not the end of the hunt though. Thanks guys!

I once started a world, and found a skelly spawner. A week later there was an update, but because there was no new biomes, the world generation stayed the same.
Except it doesn't, the spawner became zombies. What I'm saying is, the structures change (I don't know if the villages change also....
