I want to make a nether portal inside the village I am building, located in a dug out area of a hill. Looking at the wiki, I have a few Qs
1) Can Villagers enter the Nether via portal.
2) can Nether creatures enter the normal world via portal.
3) Is there anything else I should know about Nether portals and possible dangers to villagers?
I will most likely still place portal there, but would block off entrance with an iron door or 2 so Villagers cannot enter. If there is no dangers, then I would leave wide open as a decoration as well

I inadvertently tested this recently in creative with a village built into a house.
1) Villagers can enter the Nether via portal
2) Zombie Pigmen can enter Overworld via Portal - others unknown.
3) dangers? Well... Villagers could enter Nether and burn in lava. Otherwise, not sure.

I wonder if there is a realism in the size of enemies that could pass through the Nether portal. Like could Blazes, but not Magma slime or Ghast because they are too big to fit?
I've only ever seen animals pass from the overworld into the Nether so far as I have been playing it. Not refuting Zane_Wolf, just adding to what I have seen go through portals.
A bit off topic, can anything but the player pass through The End portal?

-Any entity (mob or item) that touches a portal (Nether or End) will be transported to the other dimension. But since the console version doesn't load the other dimension when an object other than the player goes through, everything will get bunched up at the other end. This means if you send a couple creepers to the nether, they will likely blow as soon as you follow them through. Unless you are very fast or have designed some elaborate trap to hold them, etc.
-Two or more players can enter separate dimensions to prevent the above circumstance from occurring. Solo players can do this using split-screen, keeping the two dimensions simultaneously loaded.
-Nether mobs can only enter the overworld if the player is actually in the nether. Zombie Pigmen have a small chance of spawning near an active portal, giving the illusion that they are passing through. But they aren't actually walking through the portal.
TY all, this will definitely help me keep the villages safe. Normally I wouldnt care, but I have developed a nice sized village from the initial 2 small house village island seed (CELESTIA or -140485868) where I have 2 Farmers, 2 Priests, 2 Blacksmiths, a Librarian and a Butcher, all spawned from normal building creations altered slightly such as a nice library built from the large house template (superficially altered slightly to look better). I will upload pics later as just finished church and need to see if they will spawn another villager.
I will have to go back into the stronghold and rip a few Iron doors and the buttons as well as some stone brick and mossy brick to decorate the portal some

Zayne is right.
But to expand on what he said:
