I spawned with a bonus chest. I destroyed that chest and took everything in it.
Fast forward a few minecraft weeks, my house is complete, and I'm building a storage shack. I come back from mining some coal.
I was lost for a second, then saw some torches.
Behind my house, is another chest!! I'm confused!! It was NEVER there before, and I throughly explored the area!!
in it was some wooden tools, couple of
potates, saplings bread, blah blah...
i thought I may have not looted the bonus chest, then I remembered I already had bread and potates in a chest at home, which I got from the spawning bonus chest!!
I also noticed while I was mining, that it looked like someone had mined a block right next to an iron ore vein, as there was a hole in the flat stone wall....
im getting creeped out...

It happened to me on PS3, and happened to a Youtuber called TDM ages ago on Xbox 360, it's a bug. If you destroy the bonus chest, it will spawn in the same location in a random time with random items. And Minecraft generates the world randomly, so the "Someone mined something near iron" could be a creeper, You forgot that you did by accident, Or you were out and someone you know came visited your grandma and played MC XB360 and did some stuff.
I agree with the hero brine isn't real stuff, but hero brine was actually on the xbox 360 edition at the beginning of development and then removed, he may have been readied as a joke. It's unlikely though, if you left the world online someone could have joined and you may have not noticed.
No, Herobrine was never in any version of the game (unless you count modded) and the only thing Mojang did that had to do with them was start a joke that says "Herobrine Removed" most/every update.

Sure, take the items. that's why you elected for the bonus chest to begin with. It's not like the Minecraft gods will strike you down for stealing their stash of random junk.
Bonus chests respawn when you log out an din, not sure if you did that. As for holes in walls, I get that often, probably just how the chunk was made (meaning a single block in a wall missing)

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
