I have two worlds with no villages. I recently managed to cure four zombie villagers in one of the worlds (achievment unlocked!) and have all four of them locked up in a small building, safe from mobs.
Now I want to build a village for them to live in.
Are there any good suggestions and designs for building a village from scratch?
If you want to replicate normal villages, then I would recommend just looking up the designs or making a world in creative so you can figure out how you would like it. I would also recommend possibly making a villager breeder, which consists of a box(any size you want) to keep the villagers in, and doors on the roof of it. You must then place a roof on top of the doors in order to make it a valid village, so the villagers will breed. Then you could work on making your village and eventually transporting the villagers(however you wish to do so.) I hope this helps. Good luck!
Villagers will recognize nearly any building with a wooden door as a house. Just make sure there are no "solid" blocks above the outside half of the door (do a youtube search if you need clarification on what I mean).
If you are going the way of an Infini-breeder, I recommend building an Iron Golem farm. Not only will it generate iron for you but it will double as a villager breeder as well.
