I recently made an iron farm and at first it did not work and then it started working mysteriously and then stopped working again and all my doors are in place and all villagers are still there yet no iron golems are spawning any more I've waited all day and nothing has happened when I first built it it didn't work then it worked for a few days and stopped again can anyone tell me why it does this or maybe even take a look at it my gamertag is tomahawk1388 if you send a message to my Xbox live account make sure to let me know its about the iron farm
Are their other iron golem farms operating elsewhere in the world?... if so, you may have reach the cap limit for iron golems until the operator of another farm kills off some.
As ConArt70 suggested, it may also be that some golems have spawned outside the trap area and have wandered off. I generally put a fence around my iron golem farms just in case.
I've also had it happen where iron golems have spawn on top of the edges of the trap (i.e. on the wall and not in the water) and have been stuck up there.
Otherwise, it does seem that iron golem spawning can be somewhat sporadic on the Xbox 360 - again, probably due to how the mob cap limits seem to work (or not work) in conjunction with the fact that spawning is somewhat random for all mobs and iron golem spawns are designed to be relatively slow anyways. Try a save and exit and a reload (assuming you're in a single-player world).

When I first started my iron golem farm, nothing would spawn for quite a while, but when I began to leave the farm to do other things, I would come back and the golem storage will be filled to the gills with golems. Usually about one hour yields about 20+ golems for me, give or take a few. However I have over 30 villagers in my farm, and have yet to kill off the remaining villagers around the map in order to get the full 50. So right now I get up to three golems per a spawn cycle, but that will soon be at five.
Now regarding your issue, it's possible that they are reaching the mob cap, and depending on the size of your storage, they may be able to glitch out and escape. I have that issue with my storage, (Need to install hoppers still.) which is why I check it roughly every hour in the first place.
Edit: How far away is your farm from your base? If it is a good distance, then there is a possibility that it is in a different loading chunk. That could be the problem right there, as you would need to be within the loading chunk for the area to update and the farming to continue.
Yeah, I just used a lava blade to kill them and collect the loot in a hopper. I just leave it running wherever I go and come back to stacks and stacks of iron.
Make sure you have a minimum of 16 villagers per Iron farm. Also, if you built more than one farm, you need to make sure it is about 100 blocks away from other Iron farms or the "villages" will merge.

You only need 10 villagers to spawn iron golems, not 16. And the 100 blocks thing for other villages is wrong as well, its 65 blocks, for any doors that have a villager within 16 blocks of the door.
Also if the 360 has the same limits as the xbox one in respects to iron golems then there is no limit on the number of golems that a village can spawn providing they are out of the village golem spawn area.
My guess is that you have built the farm on a chunk boundry and that it might not be loading the entire village, or miss behaving. However my best bet is that you have doors nearby (with 65 blocks), that have a villager that is detecting them. This won't break the farm, but rather what it does is change the village center, and thus also where the iron golems spawn, and thus its entirely possible that you have blocked spawning of iron golems all together. I'm gona take a guess that you built the iron farm by JL2579 and Panda4994, made famous by DocM77, or something very similar only covered by someone else. Iron farms attempt to perfectly center themselves so that they know where the golems will spawn, which is exactly 16x16x6 centered on the village center.
There are a number of issues with that farm, that i'll address now, 1st is that it has 6 doors per quad, or a total of 12 doors per side, for a total of 48 doors. This is because they designed the farm so that they only had to get 2 villagers within the area to start breeding process, and they would breed up to 35% of the total village doors or in this case (16) (floored). This is ok on the PC where they can have unlimited number of villagers, but on the 360 we have limits, and for villagers that is 50. To make the farm work you only need 10 villagers, and 21 doors or houses. When I built this farm I used 2 baskets, 1 on one side and 1 directly on the opposite side, it doesn't matter if the baskets are east or west, or north and south, so long as they are one of the two pairs. Secondly I cut the number of doors down to 6 per side, 3 per quad, for a total of 24 doors. Keep in mind that we must work with symmetry here, so that we have a perfect village center. With 24 doors your villagers will stop breeding at 8, so you will need to transport 2 additional villagers into the baskets manually once they have brought their numbers up to 8. I transported all 10 in manually. You now have everything you need, and just need to wait for the golems to start spawning. There is a 1 in 7000 chance per game tick that a golem will spawn. Additional doors, and or villagers do NOT increase the spawn chances. Additional villagers will increase the number of golems that can be within the golem spawn area at the same time, but do not effect anything else. Villagers do NOT effect where golems will spawn, doors (or houses) are the only thing that determines the center of the village, and thus where golems will spawn.
So with that said, if your iron farm is near other doors, that other villagers are picking up and registering to that village, they will influence the village center, and if that village center ends up in the air, or in water, or solid blocks, aka not spawnable for golems, then you'll never see any iron golems spawning, worse as others have said they could be spawning in an area that you just don't know about.
Mine has the same problem, it doesn't really spawn golems but sometimes it does, can anyone look at this and tell me if my base is too far, or if there is anything I should add/remove?

Hmmm, how many villagers in there? Without seeing it, hard to say. And you're sure that the golems aren't spawning outside of it and wandering off?
