Pressure plates cannot detect player items, only entities on them. The only way to really find out what someone has is to kill them and have everything drop.
could there be a way to tie identity to name tags, so that only people with a name tag are allowed to pass a certain barrier? And thus the in game government could issue the name tags?
As it stands, with all Federal buildings on my map (The White House, DC) (The Capitol, DC) (The Pentagon, VA) I have a system implemented that uses key cards to grant entry. Even with that system it is still possible for visitors to have malice or ill will toward the protectees or the building. Thus I need a full-proof way (other than murdering the visitors) to detect whether there are any items on a player.

Thanks for your response,
If you could perhaps come onto my map and assist me with the system I would be very open to unique suggestions aside from, as I've said, killing the visitors.
It might interfere with your build, but the only way I can think of is to build a combination lock (or similar device) into the doorway. Give the combo to only the players you trust.
But if the others are as irreputable as you seem to think, what's stopping them from just mining through the wall? Revoking their privileges may be the best way at that point.

thinking way outside the box here:

Thank you for your consideration.
