Coming back to Minecraft after a few months was pretty exciting to see all the new features. Then I took an arrow to the knee, literary. These skeletons have become lethal, am I right? Nah but on a serious note how do feel about our accurate skeletons verse our not so accurate ones? (aka old ones)
Me Personally, I've always wanted to make minecraft harder, and thanks to some new abilities that's possible. (Thanks 4J) but yeah, now that I see them in action it makes me uncomfortable sort of? Maybe that's not the right word for it but they sure make me feel some type of way. It used to be "Oh look a skeleton~ free bones and arrows" Now its like, "oh look a skeleton~ *avoids general direction* " I'm still glad they kicked it up a notch though.
Well I have no problem with them using my bow or needler rather since I use the halo texture pack. But when I don't have that and have to melee with them it gets frustrating sometimes their rate of fire is so high it makes it hard to get close enough to hit them.
I guess I don't mind them. Cause I still rely on them for bones for bonemeal, and also arrows. Water is HELL. I can hardly find chickens for feathers, for arrows, and the last update screwed bonemeal up forever.... freaking hate bonemeals properties now so I get all the bones I can!!
So while I don't prefer them being tougher, cant really avoid either.

Eh... they're a little harder, I still usually melee them and reserve my arrows for softening up creepers before closing with them.
My tactics generally remained the same... to hide behind cover and wait for them to come to me, then, when they peak around the corner, I quickly beat the snot out of them with my sword before they have much of a chance to fire off more than 1 shot. Although I do come away looking like a pin cushion at times... Funny, I don't remember arrows being left sticking out of me prior to TU19...then again, I didn't get shot nearly as much back then either. LOL.
I use a bow with power 5 enchant and it kills most creepers with one hit on normal difficulty and also skeletons, zombies and spiders a lot of the time too. Some take 2. I'm not sure if its that it's not fully drawn that they don't all die with one hit or what. I mean unarmored mobs though. Ones with armor always take 2 or more.
They aren't really that hard. But if you are exploring a cave and a skeleton suddenly catches you off guard? If you don't see it right away, you have to be careful...
I have started training dogs again! I keep cats so I can work outside at night and not worry too much about creepers sneaking up. I assume that dogs will attack skellies if they fire at you? Anyway, whatever the mechanics, I love all the upgraded mobs. It needed to happen.
Like Syeonyx said, I strafe around them, closing slowly... then quickly bum rush them. It works quite well.
What usually gets me is the ones with the crazy knockback bows. I've been shot off cliffs when a skellie pegs me from 20+ blocks away. You really need to keep your head on a swivel now.
I just hide behind cover until they peek their head around the corner and then I cut them down before they can do much else. I don't usually bother to waste arrows on them unless they have me out in the open and I don't have good cover.
The mobs that actually cause me problems now are the baby zombies, little ankle biters! They move so fast and have such a small hit box it's like trying to fight off an enraged hornet. There should be an option to kick mobs. One good boot to deal with the little so and so's.

私の実力を見たか? 見ただろう!
うん、よしよし、満足した!
Though water is now a nightmare without one...oh well.
Obnoxiously fun, I say.
Stay fluffy~

You should've seen the PC maps when it happened to them. There were "Anti-1.5 bonemeal" chests in all kinds of adventue maps.

Well, Currently I have been getting my revenge.
My sister and I have a mob grinder for Skeletons, we found a dungeon and went from there with the mob spawner; It's great for experience!
