Hey guys, I was wondering if it is possible to build Tango Tek's Iron Foundry since it requires to be built in the spawn chunks and I think console Minecraft doesn't have spawn chunks or if it does it is quite small and you can't place lava in them. Please help me.
From what I gathered, the spawn chunks are the rendered chunks surrounding the world spawn at the start of the game. (8 chunks in each direction of your starting chunk)
When you first load into a map, take note of your X/Z coordinates, then add and subtract 128 blocks from those coordinates to get a rough idea of the general boundaries of this region (it's actually a tiny bit larger than this, but the math to find the actual borders is more complicated than it is worth... but this puts you just a little inside of 1 chunk of the outer border all the way around the spawn chunk location.)
Now... the PC side has it so that the Spawn Chunk itself never 'unloads' (even on exiting and reloading)... or rather, it is always 'loaded while the game is running. The console side does not unload chunks like the PC side does during the course of game play, so how the game reacts to a save and exit and reload may be somewhat different in how they behave.
So... some testing may be required...
