Im making pads for wither skeles to spawn on and i just need to know if someones placed TOP half slabs anywhere on their mcxbox360 world and had mobs spawn on em. Im tryna get away with using half slabs. Thanks.
PS- Im aware mobs DO NOT spawn on BOTTOM half slabs. Please be an actual help and not waste my time reminding me of this. Also, I dont really want you to post on this thread if you havent actually gone thru it on ur own survival world and not just watched a yt video and automatically presume it to be true.
PSS- No 'maybe','idk', etc. type of posts either plz.
You may not like my reply, but I could have sworn they do. Really the only way to know is to try it out obviously. Better to see for yourself then rely on second hand info. At least for something simple as this.
So in short, far as I know they do. Might want to do a test run in creative to make sure though.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Perfect! Thanks. Why do u think the rates are slower tho? Thats weird to me.
I said "I'm not sure if..." Where I have upside down slabs placed, I don't get many mobs... just a enough to know that they can spawn on upside down slabs. That said, I'm not trying to make a mob trap out of them, so the spawn rates could be affected by other factors of the build (position of lighting, distances from player locations, etc.).. Since it's not a spawn trap, it's not important to me, so I'll leave you to test it out for yourself. You can let us know either way - whether or not you feel your spawn rates in your trap are the same on slabs or not.
Everyone's focusing on Slabs... but forgetting to point out the one thing that can cause the OP's specific request to fail.
Currently there is a bug that is being patched in the next title update to fix an issue with Wither Skeleton Spawning. As of right now, they do not spawn normally, and some players have reported that the Nether has 'run out of wither skeletons', where only a respawn of the nether will seem to fix it. this seems to occur every time the existing Wither Skeletons despawn after the initial Nether generation (whether that involves leaving the Nether and coming back in, or switching to peaceful mode and back off peaceful mode again, or by killing all existing Whither skeletons found).
Fortunately...the bug fix is currently in cert testing so that should be resolved soon when the next TU gets released.
Mobs definitely spawn on upper half slabs, as I have a massive underground room which is floored with upper half slabs. This is a little annoying as it is also very brightly lit yet I seem to get more mobs spawning in there than in the darker room next to it!
