I built a small mob farm on one edge of my base to help get drops I needed too. Nothing spawns in it. Ever. Doesn't matter how far away I am from. Spawning is all messed up since the update.

Well a big problem you will have with spawning is caves. You have to reduce the places mobs spawn around your spawner. Light up the caves under the mob spawner and the more areas you light up make spawns in your mob farm dramatically better.
Try to make a mob grinder outside my house did not work because they do not spawn.
Then i want to make another but to do this in the limit of the sky, but did not work eitherFormerly known as ORabbit around these parts.
Lit also helps to have more players in the game. Possibly split screen would work.
Mi need to do some testing.
