Actually I believe there is now. You just have to create the world first; save quit, and then change it to adventure mode. Or That is what was said by others. A few were ecstatic that the mode finally came to.
I'll have to look and see for myself to be sure, but it is not something I would really play without a map to be played on for that purpose.... So on that note the next time I say anything on it I will more likely know for sure... Time to check if it is the case or not.
Appended: yup, it is as I mentioned. It has to be an existing map in order to switch to that mode.
The main difference is the use of tools is required. axe to tree, pick to mine, etc. You have to use the right tools for the task, otherwise blocks are not breakable. The wiki will fill in the rest of the differences.
I stand corrected. I knew there wasn't an "Adventure" mode when you created a world, but I never tried to switch an existing world.

Yeah I mainly only heard of it before. Lots of people were excited of that feature and then I think it was Up that pointed out that it needed to be an existing world to someone else that was wondering where the mode was. Regardless of whom I heard it from, at least this thread let me check for myself whether it existed or not, and now we for most part know.:)

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
nope didn't know that, as I have not actually messed with that mode yet, just checked of its' existence. That I think is probably a bug though, but unsure of that; however there is a bug with invisible/invulnerable. Especially in the description, which makes it a bit more confusing. The players may not see you, but the mobs do, however you are invulnerable. That is one thing I think needs tuning or separate options; but that is my opinion on that particular check box....

Am I missing out?
But you don't have to worry about it- there is no such thing as "adventure mode" on the 360.
