I have been playing MCPE for so long that I didn't notice this at first but no squid are spawning in my world. I've been fishing, ridden a boat around rivers and ocean, trying to get some to spawn around me, and no squid anywhere. Is this happening for others too?
I've started three worlds since updating my 360 game, and I've been testing this. I'm not seeing squid, ocelots or wolves. I've tried switching aorund the difficulty (this works for MCPE something when things won't spawn) and nope.
So frustrating. 4J needs to end their vacation and get to work fixing what they broke.
I was AFking (or AFCing, since this console) in a jungle trying to get ocelots to spawn while I typed up my reply to you and a wolf spawned next to me--in a jungle. First wolf I've seen. In the wrong biome. What is going on???
I think that 4j fully deserves their vacation, they can stay on it for as long as they want. They've earned it, regardless of whatever bugs the game has. We can wait. Plenty of other things to do in the meantime.
This bug puts a major dent in Survival Mode. Only time will tell when it's fixed.

That's nice. However, when you add up all the bugs and problems with this last upate, how it makes certain elements of the game unplayable, it's a disrespectful waste of players' time. And that's not how you treat a community that supports your business. They have wasted enough players' time and they need to get to work on fixing these bugs. That is what any competent, accountable professional would do.
I've had no problems finding squids in TU20, so I've no idea what to suggest, really.
And I'm sure that they're completely blowing off all of their work and just kicking back, trying to find more ways to annoy us instead of releasing more free content and bug fixes.

So do you think would it be better if they take an extra month to address all the bugs?

Any competent, accountable professional also need a vacation once in a while, they just made an update with more than we needed, and you are saying they can't spend a little bit of time with their families during the holidays? Are you serious? They are probably back to work now, and we'll probably have a bug fix in the 4 or so weeks. These people just made a great update, sure with a little bugs, and you're saying "You can't take a nice little holiday break with your families, because it's disrespectful". Hypocritical.

I'm Canadian, and there is no igloos around. Or snow. Or polar bears. Or moose because I live in a city, but there are moose in the country.

Speaking as part of the community that supports the game developers, I'm glad they put out this update even with the bugs rather than shelving it and putting it on even further delays before publishing it to the community. I can honestly say that I'm having more fun with this TU even with all the bugs and minor annoyances that are around... but even counting what was broken... I can now do a lot more than I've ever been able to do on the console in the past.
People whine... "Don't update, horses are despawning all the time without rhyme or reason."... So what if they are??? If you don't update, then you don't have any horses at all to despawn in the first place. Other people are going "My double piston extenders/hidden doors/etc. are breaking all my other pistons in the game, don't update it's horrible." Honestly... I don't use that many pistons as it is... and I can certainly live without a secret hidden door for a little bit while I'm waiting for a bug fix. I sure am not so lazy that I absolutely need to use a piston elevator to get around either. And just how many resources do you need to gather in the mean time, anyway? I have farms of acres of wheat that I never touch anymore because I still haven't gone through the wheat that I have... and I never seem to be short of other sources of food.
Yes, SOME things are made unplayable by the new bugs... but a LOT MORE things have become playable just from the update alone. I, for one, do not regret getting it.
You can be angry about the bugs, of course. It would be nice if an update was bug free, but that's not something that usually happens. But considering the fact that we've received just under 20 free updates, I wouldn't lash out at 4j. Without them, you wouldn't even have Minecraft to complain about.
... a disrespectful waste of players' time, huh? Come on... It's a game... which is always just a means to "waste" leisure time. Players play voluntarily if they want to; they don't have to play if they don't. What's disrespectful is how this community continues to expect and even beligerantly demand, perfect (but still free) updates forever on a $20 game. I've spent more on toys that didn't last past Christmas morning.
Yep, I got squids swimmin' about. No witches spawning yet, but apparently that's a known bug I believe? Anyway, just glad to get all this new stuff for free, and it won't take them long to fix it.
