I haven't played MC on my 360 for almost a year now, and with my PC broken and unable to play the PC version, I was thinking of getting back to the 360 version if only to practice some redstoning, since my skills in that area are sorely wanting. I haven't been paying much attention to all updates for 360 so were there any in recent months that added more redstone items?
What are some good redstone projects that are doable in the current 360 version that would help me get better at redstoning? I can do simple redstone stuff so I'm looking for more complex stuff.
The current update brings the redstone current tot he 1.5 redstone update (in fact the whole update brought the game roughly current with 1.6.4)... with the exception of host commands and command blocks (not currently implemented as of the most recent update).
However, that being said, we are currently experiencing some extreme problems with piston mechanics, timing issues, and inter-chunk redstone lock issues, which is making some redstone builds extremely difficult if not outright impossible.
If you are looking to do more complex stuff... I'd start with the basics on redstone circuitry, for example, can you build:
A redstone clock (a mechanism that provides a steady redstone pulse).
Logic Gates ( AND, OR, NOT, NOR, NAND, XOR, XNOR, A Implies B, A Excludes B )
Memory Circuits (T-Flip Flop, and an RS Nor Latch)
BUD Switch (a Block Up Date switching mechanism that can determine if there is a change to an adjacent block's ID).
Well, I am disappointed to hear of these issues, although not really surprised. I was planning on doing logic gates--that's a project that interests me, as well as hopper sorting. But thanks for the list! I hear abotu these redstone builds all the time from watching stuff on You Tube, but they don't make a lot of sense to me unless I actually do it myself. In my Xbox games I think the most complex redstone project I made was a "rotating" redstone lamp lighthouse, but that was well before this last update and in PC I never really got into doing redstone because I got into mods (and of course in MCPE we still don't have redstone anything besides for using it to make the clock, compass and power rail).
