So my world I have had since last April and I am just wondering if since the last update if I was to trade with my villagers enough if they would offer name tags or saddles?

Also if they do sell those which villagers would be the ones to sell those?

I don't know if implemented yet... but,

The Librarian (White Robes) should offer Name Tags at their Tier 6 Trade in exchange for 20-22 emeralds, and the Leather Worker (Brown Robes w/ White Apron...but not the Butcher) should offer Saddles as a Tier 3 Trade in exchange for 8-10 emeralds.

I know that saddles are a go, but I've tried six librarians to no avail.

Currently we are unable to trade for name tags.. Until we get updated to 1.8(gonna be a very long time for that), when the PC version revamped trading, we won't be able to trade for name tags.

Right now you can get saddles from a Butcher, the villager with a white apron, for 6-7 emeralds.

EDIT: The wiki isn't wrong, it just gives info for the current PC version of trading which is 1.8.

I've added a chart from the old version of the wiki page that details what you can trade for currently on consoles and a link to trading on the wiki before 1.8.

This thread was created before TU20... Now we can trade for nametags for 20-21 emeralds.

Yes they do. Not sure what type probably blacksmith like you said but I do know I've seen arrows for trade before.

Farmers trade arrows.

Do you need a new world for the villagers to offer these things or kill the villagers and breed new ones? None of mine have offered saddles or nametags.

They're rare, high-rank trades, so finding one may take a while. I don't know about old villagers that don't have all of their trades open. You'd have to find that one out on your own.

They totally aren't rare. They are supposed to be but every butcher I've traded with had saddles and every Librarian had name tags as long as I traded with them long enough.

Villagers from previous worlds will offer the new stuff, provided you get lucky enough for them to offer the trade. No need to start a new world.

I got lucky in this fairly new Survival world. All I had to do was buy 7 Cooked Porkchops for 1 Emerald, and this Butcher offered a Saddle on the 2nd tier. And for only 7 Emeralds. Not bad! I think I'll keep him safe for a rainy day.

so can get saddle from butcher even in 1.8?

In my survival idle game, the butcher trades a saddle for 6 emeralds, while the farmer offers an emerald for wheat. Lovin that deal and any future ones
