I'm playing Minecraft on the Xbox 360 Edition and since the latest update my horses seem to despawn. I leave my horse with diamond armor and saddle tied to a fence. I walk away so i can go mining, farming, etc... When i come back the horse disappeared but there is stil a knot on the fence. These person post seems to have the same problem - http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/632873-minecraft-xbox-360-edition/70853778
1: The name tag. Get a name tag and name it, it shouldn't ever disappear unless killed.
2: Save and exit the game, I heard this works but haven't tried myself. It seems the horses are still there cause the lead is still there. Saving and exiting should reset them or something when you get back on.
on survival world, horse totally disappearing,i have search entire biome no horses can be found, try changing your difficulty to easy or above to get another horse,be warned horses still disappears.i tried everything fence 2 blocks high 15x in size, for only 1 horse.its a bugs thingy.
As near as I can tell, nothing (right now) stops a horse from despawning.... except a (named) name tag.
I've had one disappear with a named name tag and one that didn't... so I'd have to disagree that using named name tags is a guaranteed solution. The difference between them (mostly... other than skin texture) was that the first disappeared after it had a lead tied to a fence, and was boxed in so it couldn't escape, whereas the other that didn't despawn (yet) I put a saddle on and rode (but didn't tame as I was in creative so the horse never tried to throw me) and only tethered it to the outside of my boxed in enclosure.
All I know is:
Tamed- disappeared.
Tames & Lead- disappeared.
Tamed & tied off lead- disappeared.
Tamed, tied off lead & saddled- disappeared.
Named (and all the above)- stayed! (No fencing needed).
Epilog: After 4 days I'm tired of that large rat horse hanging around. Can I kill him and get some leather now?
