Now, I'm not sure if this works, but I may have found a way to prevent despawning. I am currently testing this right now. I'm at x -59 y 5 z-81 on a Superflat World with no structures. I tied a horse, a donkey and mule to a wooden fence post, the donkey has 64 hay bales in his chest. The horse is brown with white spots and has diamond horse armor. The mule had two chest in his chest. All are wearing saddles and are not named. I left WAY out of render distance and even entered the end, but ONLY the mule despawned. So I'm wondering now why is the horse still there? My biggest guess is that the donkey was loading the chunks but I'm not sure.

I'm Canadian, and there is no igloos around. Or snow. Or polar bears. Or moose because I live in a city, but there are moose in the country.
