This glitch is very hard to do and MUST be done right before it transfers you, but is great if you're running low on diamonds and want to "test your luck"
Tested and does NOT lose your block no matter how many times you do it wrong.

Enter the portal and enter inventory, just as the transition from worlds is about to occur, you click on the block, and if sucessful, one block will stay in your inventory while another will appear on the ground and soon after be picked up, then just go into your PCI and turn the blocks into their multi piece counterpart.
And I'm very sorry I didn't type this in the original post, I was definitely free to type it all out since I wasn't currently playing Minecraft...
