It's a bunch of idiot fanboys renaming the words "PvP match/game" to something that makes little sense compared to what actually happens in the movies that I never watched.
At this point it is any PvP hosted by someone who doesn't know what PvP is, sometimes using the above rules.
My understanding of the Hunger Games maps are based on the trilogy it was named after written by Suzanne Collins from 2008, and is specifically based around the idea of an immense out-door 'arena', similar in style to the arena that the 13 District Tributes competed to kill each other in on an annual basis as depicted within these novels.
They sometimes have an initial starting area where the player combatants have a starting pad in a circle around a stock-pile of random supplies in the middle, where they await a countdown before they can leave the pad and choose to run to the center to fight over those supplies or run away and try to hide and survive for as long as they can, finding what they can along the way (or some combination of a quick makeshift dash and grab before they are killed).
After some time passes (near the end of the game), the 'tributes' (aka. players) will be forced into a tight arena to go toe to toe with each other until there is only one survivor left.
Actually, Hunger Games are different on Xbox than they are on PC. On PC, you most likely are playing on a server with many random people and because of the many ways to change the game, the map-maker is able to create a deathmatch. The deathmatch is when the players are teleported into a smaller arena, where they fight to the death. On Xbox, the world has to be one that you created yourself. Because Xbox LIVE! is the equivalent of multiplayer, you can only play against your Xbox friends.

My definition of a hunger games match is like this
You are on your own and need to survive by any means necessary in a lobby with 3-7 other people including you.
There are chests scattered all over the map with random loot of any kind and you are basically claiming territory like an army/gang/etc.
Idk if I was right or wrong, I just hear what people say about them and I would like a very accurate definition of a hunger games server.
Thanks
The game begins with a set number of people place in a circle/octagon around a set number of chest, often with a crafting and/or enchantment table.
Once the game begins people have to find chests for food, weapons, arrows, materials(sticks, diamonds, iron, gold)Bottles O'Enchanting, wand potions.
Once down to a certain limit of players (2-4) or time, deathmatch begins.
In deathmatch players are teleported to spawn or a battle arena.
Last player alive wins.
I'm Canadian, and there is no igloos around. Or snow. Or polar bears. Or moose because I live in a city, but there are moose in the country.

Stay fluffy~
Um...can you please write this in english? If you say this is english you really need to go back to preschool and start all over again.
