4J Studios are working on a huge update to the game to bring it to the equivalent of PC version 1.6.4. It will probably take a long time, since the current update for the consoles is equivalent to PC version 1.3.2. Through their tweets I've seen they're testing hoppers, the wither, all that stuff, so just be patient and a huge update will come your way
This update will be for all console versions just btw. You can follow or just check out 4J Studios on Twitter through this link.
I got into PC MC around v1.6.4 from MC360. That version is pretty "everything else" than MC360 players have been missing from the PC version since the 360 version launched.
Granted, new stuff has happened on PC since then to make console players jealous, but from a certain vantage point, it makes the console game as complete as defined by what was whined about before.
I agree that it's about time for an update (for all the consoles), but not because it needs more 'stuff', and especially not because the PC has more.
The consoles have different stuff. So?

That'll be great, I've been waiting. They did a small update earlier this year. But it will be nice to have everything that's in the pc edition.

Not everything in the PC edition though, there's still the 1.7 and 1.8 that will need to be added to have all the stuff in the PC version. It'll probably take a long while to be on par with the PC edition, since 4J have 5 consoles with different specifications to worry about. However, 1.6.4 is still quite close to the latest version, 4J will probably also add a few things from the later versions earlier, much like they added carpets early, which is a 1.6 feature
"Need," as if the game will implode if it doesn't occur.
Also, this is Minecraft 360 Edition, not Minecraft for the 360. Please don't compare the two. If you want more stuff, then go play the PC version.
Minecraft for the 360? Sorry if I sound sort of dumb, I don't know any 360 other than the Xbox.
I agree, the console version doesn't need an update, but it will get one in due time.
The two can be compared in a sense, since they're essentially the same game, just one is behind the other one. Content-wise? Yeah, people shouldn't compare the two.

Yeah, I guess I shouldn't compare the two. The pc edition did come out before the Xbox edition. I do play the Pc edition, but lately I have been playing it on the Xbox.
Another dumb "need" an update thread because the PC has more. There must be 1,000 of these on the forums by now (yawn). As a person who declined the last update because of bugs, I have to say I don't give a rip about getting any new stuff until they get the corrupting file save issues worked out once and for all. For now, I'm quite happy playing TU16. My game is working fine and this gives me a chance to complete more of my world before the next big feature adding update screws up the biomes... causing me to want to abandon that WIP and start a new world to get all the new stuff.
I continue to think that people look at it backwards- that the PC is behind in some of the basic features of the consoles have always had (controller support, tutorial, easy-crafting, etc. comes to mind).
This is a chicken/egg kinda thing. Which one is really behind the other- PC or console(s)?
Doesn't matter. After all this time, you know by now that neither will ever be the same as the other- they'll always be 'different'. So play the one with the features you want.

I'm still on TU13. First I avoided some updates because of alarming bugs, then they changed the behavior of pistons, which I use to do very time-critical and complex things. I don't like this attitude that this game is never finished, and any feature we've come to expect could morph into something else on a whim. Now I own an Xbox One, and I won't touch the MC version there, because of the dismal state it is in. I'm hoping that now that Microsoft owns the IP, they'll whip development into better shape. This is one of the most important gaming IPs in the world, and needs to be treated as such at all levels.

I kept reading "IP" as "Internet Protocol" (address).... not as "Intellectual Property"...
Haha! Sorry. I should have just said "property". I preach always spelling out full terms once before shortening to acronyms, and here I didn't practice it.
this depends on what you originate from, see , i came from pc at the end of 1.5 update, then played until 1.7 when my pc bit the dust , so im used to things like keyboard controls and manual crafting (which has a few small but nifty advantages) so to me, console is behind.
They need to add more stuff to the inventory, because the pc edition has a lot of more stuff than xbox edition. Does anyone agree?
